this is Bay radio I'm Jeremy Kenton now
0:04
we're here looking at masks and also
0:08
gloves and there's a right way and a
0:10
wrong way to put these on but more
0:13
importantly when to dispose of them now
0:16
with a mask you must make sure that you
0:19
put it on if you have the earpiece type
0:21
so that you are holding it not by the
0:24
mask itself but by the earpieces
0:27
and placing it over the chin so that it
0:30
then covers the whole of the nose of the
0:32
face and around the ears now you may
0:35
find that what happens is that it's too
0:37
loose at the sides and in a sense if
0:41
you're a glasses wearer like I am if
0:43
it's steaming up it's tight and that's
0:46
what you want but if you find that it's
0:49
too loose a very simple trick is to use
0:53
a paper clip and attach this to the mask
1:01
to the earpieces which would then allow
1:07
it to be actually tighter so it takes
1:11
away any gaps now when it's on you must
1:15
make sure that it's covering the whole
1:16
of the bows and the whole of the chin
1:18
and try to avoid adjusting it then
1:22
moving it up and down by using the front
1:24
of the mask make sure that you don't
1:27
touch the front of the mask whilst it's
1:29
on and certainly when taking it off and
1:32
to take it off literally from the
1:35
earpieces now if you've got the type
1:37
that ties make sure that you tie the top
1:41
cord tightly first of all and then the
1:46
lower one the lower one to actually go
1:48
on the base of the neck the base of the
1:51
skull and when you take them off do not
1:55
touch the actual material itself and
1:57
remember that disposable masks aren't
2:00
exactly what they say they're for one
2:02
we're only and they are to be disposed
2:05
of and remember that if the mass becomes
2:07
damp or moist dispose of is if you have
2:11
the washable type
2:13
of masks make sure that you're washing
2:15
it after a single use and that it
2:17
shouldn't be washed to anything less
2:19
than sixty degrees and making sure that
2:22
it's dry before you reuse it and have
2:27
gloves once again there's a right way
2:31
and a wrong way to put them on and
2:33
remember the masks and gloves are
2:35
useless if you're not using regular hand
2:37
washing and remember for a minimum of
2:39
twenty seconds that's two verses of
2:41
happy birthday to put gloves on without
2:52
touching them making sure that they're
2:57
tight and you're better off removing any
3:04
rings to avoid puncturing the glove now
3:08
to take the gloves off remember that
3:10
what you do is that you're going to be
3:11
turning it inside out so that you pull
3:14
up and then using the inside part of
3:18
that glove placing it so that you can
3:21
then without touching the outside of the
3:24
other glove and remember the disposable
3:27
gloves are exactly what they say then
3:29
meant to be disposed off another option
3:33
is a do-it-yourself face shield it's now
3:35
using either a plastic cover from an a4
3:39
folder or laminating a blank laminate
3:43
sheet with some foam rubber and some
3:48
straps you can make these from velcro
3:50
all kinds of things so that you can
3:53
actually make a face shield yourself
3:55
which will give you added protection but
4:01
remember don't touch the front of the
4:03
shield and that these can be cleaned
4:05
with alcohol or even just soap and water
4:08
and to remove once again then touch the
4:11
shield itself but use the straps or
4:15
cords so some simple guidance as to how
4:19
to protect yourself
