and I've been teasing this up for a
0:01
while today and yesterday because me
0:03
looking after this show for Cal involves
0:05
on a Tuesday talking to our us
0:07
correspondent Rich Reynolds who is here
0:09
back after quite a while away actually
0:11
how do you know a few weeks uh anybody
0:13
who's been following the news knows that
0:15
Valencia which is where I live was uh
0:17
was
0:18
uh decimated by floods and mud and all
0:21
sorts of nonsense so yeah roads are open
0:24
I'm I'm back on the air it's great the
0:26
roads I mean you weren't particularly
0:27
affected at the time you near the city
0:29
yeah no no it's just I couldn't get out
0:31
of the city and I would go last week I
0:33
tried to come down here and I I would
0:35
hit a road and the way Cal expressed it
0:37
was I got stopped by the police numerous
0:39
times I got turned away by the police so
0:42
yeah you you like you were like Phil con
0:43
is in Groundhog Day determined to make
0:45
it you got a big storm ahead turn back
0:47
he said well I'm thinking oh was great
0:49
so it's good to be back yeah so we
0:51
you've sort of covered all that of
0:52
course you did catch up uh on the line
0:55
in the last couple of weeks there and
0:57
well welcome back in see it's um it's
0:59
been a big day got bit the one big news
1:00
story I suppose and lots of other bits
1:03
going on um Andy from here came running
1:05
in you know they've launched those
1:06
missiles yeah um these were this is a
1:09
quite a big story yesterday and it
1:10
reminded us that Joe Biden still still
1:12
in charge for the time being gave the
1:14
goahead for Ukraine to use the American
1:17
supplied weapons the missiles it's it's
1:20
kind of interesting that that Biden told
1:22
them what they couldn't do with the
1:24
missiles and they went ahead and and and
1:27
they completely paid attention to that
1:29
so you know here's this guy who's trying
1:32
to he's trying to defend his own country
1:35
and yet you know Biden was saying you
1:37
you can't use them for these and they
1:38
said okay we didn't but now now they uh
1:42
they released the hounds so to speak
1:44
well yeah I mean about an hour ago I was
1:45
thinking I might ask you if they okay
1:48
we've made this public that he's got to
1:49
go ahead but it may be just it's more of
1:51
a threat and you know you know defensive
1:53
thing but no they fired them yeah they
1:55
didn't really do an awful lot it wasn't
1:57
into like Moscow it the region five of
2:01
them blown out the sky anyway one of
2:02
them damaged just caused a bit of damage
2:04
to a milit military facility in the area
2:07
well it's got quite the defense system
2:08
so yeah so very very um strategic in the
2:12
way they're uh bombing and I I I
2:14
understand that um I think that's a
2:16
smart move I think that's something that
2:17
they have to do um there's there is only
2:20
so long I I my opinion that you can be
2:23
back on your heels and have somebody
2:25
attack attack attack before you go into
2:28
their country and and and they were in
2:30
what a couple of months ago is when they
2:31
started attacking in Russia and the
2:33
Russians they were back on their heels
2:35
going wait a minute so you're going to
2:37
actually attack us so it's but it is
2:40
getting worse and you know in that when
2:42
Trump becomes president God knows which
2:45
way the wind is going to blow as far as
2:47
aid for uh Ukraine we all hope a a lot
2:51
of us hope that it continues but who
2:53
knows which way the wind is going to
2:54
blow no I mean with this it was because
2:56
when this all started it was you can't
2:59
have other countries that sort of boots
3:00
on the ground start a war with Russia
3:02
that's not a good idea so um it's the
3:04
way they're doing it they're helping
3:05
Ukraine fight this war and I can I can
3:07
tell you that the same thing would apply
3:10
in UK in UK you can't just do that
3:13
because because America has been into so
3:15
many wars in other countries overseas
3:18
where we've gotten involved and I'll
3:21
tell you the American public is just
3:22
kind of tired of it you know they'll
3:24
give money but you know for instance in
3:26
Afghanistan for over 20 years and they
3:29
they just want this to be another
3:30
Afghanistan and be fighting Russians for
3:32
20 years and because when you're
3:34
fighting the Russians of course you're
3:36
fighting the Koreans you're fighting the
3:38
Chinese and then it's going to get
3:40
really bad yeah sure okay so that's yeah
3:43
that's that's in our main news today but
3:46
also of course Joe Biden at the G20
3:48
Summit so they're in Rio in Brazil and I
3:52
was you did see that video because I was
3:53
going to mention that clip of him in the
3:56
jungle that's it keep wrapped up and it
3:58
was like where's he going
4:00
what those of you that have not seen it
4:03
Joe Biden gave a speech a very very
4:05
brief speech uh at the G20 in Rio and he
4:10
looks like he was on the edge of the
4:11
Jungle and he gave this very quick
4:12
speech and then immediately turned
4:14
around and walked into the jungle it was
4:17
so it was so weird and you know I was
4:19
watching a lot of American uh comedy
4:21
shows that were saying where you going
4:23
Joe yeah it looked like like jamanji
4:25
yeah it did look like a set he didn't I
4:27
forgot of course they were in Brazil so
4:29
be the Amazon probably itself but um it
4:32
looked like he was waiting for someone
4:33
to yell cuts and so he could turn around
4:35
but he just kept walking that was funny
4:37
it was it was really funny you know and
4:39
I I you know from everything I've read
4:42
and seen I don't know if they
4:43
accomplished a lot at the G20 I mean you
4:45
have the 20 wealthiest countries in the
4:48
world all getting together but they're
4:50
all talking about climate change but I
4:52
from what I'm I'm seeing I don't think
4:54
anybody made any resolutions nobody uh
4:57
they're they're moving toward a plastic
4:59
ban but by the end of this year which by
5:02
the way is in six weeks so I don't I
5:04
don't think that's going to happen um I
5:06
can't think of anything better than a
5:07
Plastics ban um well bit by bit I think
5:10
they've been doing that but um overall
5:12
Plastics ban I don't know how that's
5:14
going to work so quickly as you say but
5:16
um it has been moted we'll get to Donald
5:18
Trump in just a while of course but um
5:20
it's been moted or people speculating on
5:23
some of these plans he's made already
5:25
including to come back out of the the
5:26
Paris um climate change agreement which
5:29
he did he do before threatened to do
5:31
before did he did he pulled us out of
5:33
the pulled the country out of the out of
5:35
the Paris Accord and there was a lot of
5:37
brewhaha about it in the states half the
5:40
country was very unhappy about it and
5:42
the other half thought it was a great
5:43
idea and uh I think and anybody who's
5:48
who's plugged into this will tell you
5:50
that that he's probably going to do it
5:52
again that as soon as he gets into
5:54
office and I know the other members of
5:56
the G20 are
5:58
very they're they're ging their loins
6:00
for this they're making sure that that
6:02
they're all set up within them uh within
6:04
their organizations within their
6:06
countries uh in case he does pull out so
6:09
I would be fully prepared for it by by
6:13
the spring or summer of next year ready
6:15
yeah not good not good at all I mean you
6:18
you it maybe have his reasons because of
6:20
sort of indust from the industry side of
6:22
things but when people sort of
6:23
completely deny any climate change or
6:25
saying it's a hoax I just think what has
6:27
to happen for you to start believing
6:29
this sort of thing how bad does it have
6:31
to get and also if you're not in in
6:33
business or in Industry what's in it for
6:35
you apart from being contrary for the
6:36
sake of it yeah and how much money do
6:39
you want how much money do you need
6:41
before you you look around and you go ah
6:44
oh part of this destruction that's me
6:46
I'm I'm doing that uh even some of the
6:48
oil companies now uh like Shell oil for
6:51
instance uh Exxon Mobile they realize
6:54
that there are a lot of uh they've done
6:57
a lot of damage and they're spending
6:59
more and more money on on repairing the
7:01
environment and uh I can see why
7:05
individuals might say well you know I'm
7:06
doing my bit but you know China's
7:08
pumping out whatever a year um which is
7:11
causing the great well China China seems
7:14
to be a huge problem anyhow because I
7:16
don't think China is part of the G20 I
7:18
don't think China is uh I I I take that
7:20
back China is part of the G20 but I
7:22
don't think they go along with a lot of
7:24
these uh demands and a lot of these
7:26
problems as far as acknowledging what
7:29
needs to be done so there there there
7:31
doesn't seem to be any agreement and I I
7:33
almost wonder why they even got together
7:35
why they're talking about this stuff if
7:36
they're not going to agree and set
7:38
policy but uh we'll see what happens is
7:40
it finished it was the final day today
7:42
is it y yeah okay so nothing's been
7:44
revealed nothing note has come out of it
7:47
no but but but as you said everybody
7:50
seems to be a little bit afraid of what
7:51
Trump's going to do and the fact is
7:53
nobody knows what he's going to do you
7:54
know as long as Elon Musk has his ear
7:57
which we're going to talk about in a
7:58
little way yeah uh he
8:01
he musk is pumping all kinds of thoughts
8:04
into his head that he may not not have
8:06
had four years ago so he may have
8:09
changed I don't I don't really know so
8:11
the cabinet picks the people he one or
8:13
two pretty well-known ones in there um
8:16
he's picked these people out it doesn't
8:18
necessarily mean that they'll go
8:19
straight into office do they have to be
8:21
have to be approved by the Senate right
8:22
they got approved by the senate in the
8:24
house and what what they have to do is
8:26
each one of these people has got to uh
8:30
be approved by uh 50% plus one and right
8:35
now uh as we know the Senate and the uh
8:39
House of Representatives will be
8:40
Republican controlled as of January 2nd
8:43
so way the way this works is that all of
8:45
the people who have won elections uh and
8:48
there is going to be a lot of turnover
8:51
they uh they take office like the day
8:53
after the 1 of of January um and Trump
8:56
takes office on the 20th of January and
8:59
the way this works is uh that then they
9:03
are voting on on what uh what Trump is
9:07
proposed right and so there are some key
9:09
ones that that he's he's looking to fill
9:12
here that are very very controversial uh
9:14
secretary of state Secretary of Defense
9:16
and and and Homeland Security and that
9:19
sort of thing but uh they they do have
9:22
to be voted on I understanding that that
9:25
because the House and Senate are going
9:27
to be controlled by Republicans he's got
9:29
a free pass I mean they're going to
9:30
approve everything he does except there
9:33
are a couple that are so controversial
9:35
that it's doubtful that they will pass
9:37
these guys I mean for someone like Matt
9:39
Gates who is is up for attorney general
9:43
this guy has been accused of of of
9:45
sleeping with a 17-year-old of uh of
9:48
attending orgies and and some pretty uh
9:51
some pretty nasty stuff for an attorney
9:53
general or actually for anybody but but
9:56
especially for somebody who's the top
9:58
cop in the whole country sure I guess he
10:00
hasn't been found guilty of anything but
10:02
sent the accusations there well that's
10:04
right that's right um the other guy as
10:07
well was the um they saw him with some
10:09
tattoos that may have been leaning
10:10
towards the some Far Right groups now
10:13
Pete Pete is it Pete Pete heit was the
10:16
was the host of fox a fox show on
10:20
mornings so he wasn't even good enough
10:22
to be on the main show but he was on the
10:23
on the on the weekend show and uh he's
10:27
got a background as I think he was a
10:29
Green Beret and he's got a background in
10:30
the military but he's very Pro uh
10:33
pro-military um he has no qualifications
10:36
to be secretary defense none to hold the
10:39
the key to the largest military in the
10:41
history of the world this guy's
10:43
completely unqualified and oh yes
10:46
there's uh he's been accused of sexual
10:49
misconduct and and it seems like
10:52
everybody that Trump seems to be
10:53
nominating has some sort of skeleton in
10:55
the closet and that's that's a problem
10:57
with this guy so there's a real doubt
10:58
whether he's going to pass uh all the
11:01
people you know Trump can he can
11:03
manhandle Everybody by saying look if
11:05
you don't if you don't approve this guy
11:07
I'm not going to like you and I'm not
11:09
going to give your State uh money when
11:12
it needs it and etc etc
11:14
so that's exactly what what may happen
11:17
but uh there are so many people that
11:19
don't like Matt Gates I mean clearly
11:22
he's not qualified for uh for his
11:25
position uh Robert F Kennedy Jr that's
11:27
the big one yeah that's the big one who
11:29
just a he's he's wangled his way into
11:32
Trump's Circle and he's now Trump's pal
11:35
and he and Elon Musk are like three
11:38
really good friends but he's completely
11:41
unqualified to be Secretary of Health
11:43
completely I mean he he he's an
11:46
antivaxer although sometimes he says
11:47
he's not a lot of times he says he is um
11:52
he's he believes that vaccinations cause
11:54
Autism it doesn't or they don't well
11:57
that got um yeah that got de deun and it
12:00
it has been debunked yeah um so so he's
12:03
got a bunch of people that he's
12:04
surrounding himself that he's going to
12:05
he's going to ram through and uh there
12:08
are real doubts whether or not some of
12:10
these people um are even going to make
12:12
it through see this is where it differs
12:14
because um in the British Parliament for
12:16
example they would have to be elected
12:18
MPS to become a Cabinet member but not
12:21
well here could be anybody you could
12:22
walk in and and you could be appointed
12:24
so none of these are um serving
12:26
politicians oh no and the thing about
12:27
Matt Gates is Matt Gates is is being
12:29
investigated by by the uh House of
12:32
Representatives for violations and and
12:35
and and you know alleged rape of the
12:38
17-year-old but that is being held by uh
12:43
that investigation is being conducted by
12:45
the House of Representatives not by the
12:47
police so what happened was as soon as
12:50
Trump nominated him he resigned so he's
12:54
not a member of Congress anymore so you
12:56
can't investigate somebody who's not a
12:57
member of Congress right so he avoided
13:00
that he dodged that bullet now what
13:01
happens if he is turned down for this
13:04
position and there's a good chance that
13:06
he will be turned down what happens is
13:08
that position in Florida which was his
13:11
his district is now open so a lot of
13:14
these people have have they've run and
13:16
been reelected in their districts and
13:17
Trump is putting them all in in wants to
13:19
put them all in his cabinet now all
13:21
those seats in the House are now open
13:25
right okay it's it's going to get really
13:26
really nasty it's like it's like hey I
13:28
want to be class president okay you're
13:30
in and now you're resigning so so quite
13:34
a few sort of sharply dressed males
13:36
amongst the lineup but that's good way
13:39
well yeah but there's a female there
13:42
what do we know about Tulsi gabard Tulsi
13:44
gabard has uh has been accused in the
13:47
past of cozying up to Putin cozying up
13:49
to Russia she's she used to be Democrat
13:52
I remember one time uh she got elected
13:55
uh when I was strangely enough when I
13:57
was celebrating a birthday in Hawaii one
13:59
time I remember that's when she was was
14:01
elected so this is back a number of
14:03
years ago and she uh she was a
14:07
Democrat uh suddenly decided that she
14:09
was going to be very very uh
14:12
conservative and so she joined the
14:14
Republican party and now Trump has found
14:16
a a place and he wants to uh put her in
14:19
his in in his cabinet as uh let's see um
14:24
I can't remember the position that she's
14:25
looking she's looking at right now but
14:28
she's um she's not really that qualified
14:32
so no I don't know much about her but
14:34
she's she's a bit on the Shady Side you
14:36
just reminded me saying that she used to
14:38
be a Democrat um if it came down to the
14:40
votes you know sort of where they do get
14:42
a say uh in whether any of these go
14:44
through um RFK Jr uh about him coming
14:48
away from the Democratic party didn't go
14:50
down well with the family oh my God but
14:52
um family hates him but what about the
14:54
party itself Oh you mean where the
14:57
Democratic party is right now with him
14:59
yeah as far as he goes as far as he goes
15:01
well he's Persona NR Democratic party
15:04
wants nothing to do with him and I I
15:05
don't think the Republican Party knows
15:07
what to do with him because he he
15:08
clearly is not a Republican and he's
15:10
he's not a Democrat he's just a guy you
15:13
know it could it'd be like you or
15:15
me yeah he's an independent and and
15:18
clearly he's he leans on the
15:20
conservative side and he leans on the
15:23
Democratic uh the Republican side but
15:25
officially he does not have a party and
15:27
so uh
15:29
it's all a matter of uh what he believes
15:32
and you know that Trump likes him that's
15:34
really but you don't have to be in in
15:36
the American government you do not have
15:37
to be a Republican or a Democrat or even
15:40
hold a position you could be the same
15:42
thing with the speaker of the house you
15:43
know it's the number three position the
15:45
US government behind president vice
15:47
president you don't they could put you
15:50
in there it doesn't matter you don't you
15:53
don't have to have a position in the
15:54
government it's kind of one of those
15:56
weird things M and also just I don't
15:59
think he's being nominated for any uh
16:01
position in particular but seeing a lot
16:02
of Don Jr around what's good Lord what's
16:05
his involvement just sort of the
16:06
campaign management side of things I
16:08
don't know yeah I think he's just the
16:09
power behind the throne I think I think
16:11
he and his brother Eric are just kind of
16:13
whispering in his dad's ear about what
16:15
to do it used to be ianka you know she
16:18
the first time through she was the power
16:20
behind the throne and uh you know Trump
16:23
absolutely adores her and adored her
16:25
husband Jared Kushner but the two of
16:27
them Persona NR now and I think they
16:30
they they had enough of politics they
16:32
had enough of being beaten up because
16:34
the American Press really did beat these
16:36
two up because there were a lot of U uh
16:39
a lot of uh how can we say expectations
16:43
you know they that Trump had said oh
16:45
Jared is so good at this and Ivanka is
16:47
good at this and what happened was the
16:49
two of them weren't good at it and they
16:51
did not help the the government so I
16:53
think that they're a little bit thin
16:55
skinned and decided we're just going to
16:57
back out and and all for the best and
16:59
both of them are are quite well off and
17:01
they they run the family business so
17:03
it's not like there's stuff to do but
17:04
Don Jr and Eric these two are addicts
17:08
they are absolutely addicted to the to
17:10
the spotlight and what you know whatever
17:13
dad does that they're on board with it
17:15
okay well we I mean you're not um
17:17
particularly looking forward to it by
17:19
the SS of it for January but any if you
17:21
were to put you know your affiliations
17:23
aside do you see any any positives
17:25
anything good that could happen as far
17:27
as foreign relation I don't know from
17:29
with from the Trump Administration you
17:31
know one thing I think is that no matter
17:33
how bad you think it's going to be it's
17:36
not going to be that bad no you know
17:38
Trump he was President for four years
17:41
and I I was as appalled as any other
17:43
Democrat was but ultimately the sky
17:46
didn't fall the government didn't fall
17:49
uh financially there were a lot of
17:50
people who made money from his
17:52
presidency we were absolutely appalled
17:54
at the way he did business for instance
17:56
you know he owns this hotel uh not far
17:58
from the White House and people would
17:59
come in uh come into town he'd put them
18:02
all up at his hotel and he charged them
18:04
$1,000 a night and and he got richer and
18:07
richer and richer and apparently people
18:09
in America they don't care about that
18:10
they just like him and they say all
18:12
right this guy's fleecing the government
18:14
but you know maybe I would do that too
18:16
if I were president so I don't think
18:18
things are going to be all that bad I I
18:20
think uh things are going to everything
18:23
is very cyclical I think there's another
18:25
there's another election in two years
18:27
and I think the if I were a Democrat I
18:30
and and control the Democratic party I
18:32
would be looking at ways to kind of
18:34
improve things um I think the Democrats
18:37
need to figure out a way to work with
18:39
Trump you no matter how hairbrain and
18:42
haphazard he tends to be there there's
18:44
got to be some logic there um and I I
18:48
just I don't see the world collapsing I
18:50
just don't you know and it's and it's
18:52
it's all going to come around again sure
18:54
well I mean this this time he may not
18:56
have a global pandemic to contend with
18:58
CU it to be I mean from my you know very
19:00
Layman's point of view it was a
19:02
reasonable run until that um kicked in
19:04
and just messed up the economy
19:06
everything it seemed to be going okay
19:08
within stat
19:10
certainly what they're voting for
19:11
exactly and he got certainly he got
19:13
flustered in that he didn't know how to
19:15
handle things and he I think anyone did
19:17
well I know but he had to have he had
19:18
press conferences every single day and
19:20
he would make fun of Dr fouchy would
19:23
make fun of of his own people all his
19:25
doctors and you know he wanted people to
19:27
drink bleach and and inject bleach into
19:29
them and it was just it was all kind of
19:31
silly stuff and hopefully there were a
19:33
lot of people out there who said it's
19:35
silly I'm not going to do anything like
19:36
that uh he's just being a character but
19:40
I'm not offering any explanations or any
19:42
excuses for him but but I just would Ur
19:45
urge everybody who's a Democrat and is
19:47
upset about this calm down you know
19:50
we're going to have a couple of years of
19:51
this so it's like a roller coaster hold
19:53
on to the ride and just make sure you
19:55
don't get thrown out of the ride and
19:56
that that everything's going to be
19:58
eventually okay 7 minutes to five let's
20:00
get on to Elon Musk shall we um the gift
20:03
that keeps on giving of sorts I if you
20:05
go to the financial news he a photo
20:06
picture of him every day on the various
20:09
Financial um platform websites but it's
20:13
sort of changed a little bit in people's
20:14
view especially with the election um
20:17
well he's got you know he's got Trump's
20:19
ear now and I don't know nobody really
20:20
knows how that happened but he kind of
20:22
jammed himself into Trump's Circle and
20:25
uh Trump believes in Him Trump loves him
20:28
and
20:29
uh there is that I wonder if it started
20:31
when he allowed him back on the the
20:33
platform when he changed it to yeah and
20:35
there is a lot of talk that that that
20:37
truth social is going to merge or be
20:40
bought up by X and I think I can see
20:42
that happening and the truth social is a
20:44
very very troubled stock it's a very
20:46
troubled platform and I don't think
20:48
Trump knows anything about how to run
20:50
social media or any of any of his people
20:53
but uh I think that uh uh certainly musk
20:57
is somebody that needs to be watched I
20:59
think that he is
21:01
uh his any power he had as being the
21:04
wealthiest man in the world I think is
21:06
nothing compared to what he's got now
21:08
because he's got all these American
21:10
contracts he's got contracts to build
21:12
Rockets he's got contracts uh to provide
21:15
astronauts and that sort of thing so
21:17
it's it's it's going to be uh uh the
21:20
world according to musk for the next
21:22
four years at least well sure I mean we
21:24
unlike some of the people we may have
21:26
mentioned earlier you can't say he's an
21:27
idiot he's not
21:30
he a
21:31
genius but famously there's a fine line
21:34
between genius and crackpot but is he
21:37
but is he an evil genius that's the
21:39
thing know but you know you you look at
21:41
SpaceX which has been a huge success and
21:44
and and I I I'm I'm not big on Twitter
21:48
but I it sounds like he's trying to do
21:50
his best to sync that ship yeah I'm not
21:52
sure what's going on there it's just
21:53
been the last few days or last week or
21:55
so that people have been saying right
21:56
I'm off to Blue Sky you can come to just
21:59
I mean I've been on Twitter uh Exodus
22:01
now for long time but just as a Newsfeed
22:04
um the worst thing you can do I think
22:06
sometimes is click on the things that
22:07
are trending because that gets regular
22:09
people's opinions and no one wants to
22:10
hear those yeah so what do you think
22:12
what do you think about blue sky I
22:14
haven't really looked into it to be fair
22:16
because I'm just so used to having X
22:18
open as because you follow who you want
22:19
to follow and it comes up in your
22:21
timeline whether it's breaking news or
22:23
comedians
22:24
whatever I was reading that it has they
22:27
have 610 million users D daily users I
22:30
guess and blue sky is is getting 10 to
22:33
15,000 people every 10 minutes that
22:36
that's pretty good anybody would love
22:39
that but they had 150,000 people
22:42
apparently who left after Trump was uh
22:45
Trump when he was elected and so we'll
22:49
see where this goes uh I can't see
22:51
Twitter or ex going away anytime soon
22:55
but but if they continue to lose people
22:58
uh um you know it's all about money and
23:00
and and if this thing goes down and
23:03
people keep gravitating toward blue sky
23:05
so I don't know I've never been on Blue
23:07
Sky I so I don't really I admit I
23:08
haven't and I didn't I should have sort
23:10
of looked it up a little bit before I
23:11
spoke to you and there's also threads
23:13
you know I'm I'm on threads because I'm
23:16
you know I'm on Instagram my daughter is
23:17
on Instagram so I kind of follow what
23:19
she's doing and and Facebook but threads
23:21
is of course on uh on uh uh the uh meta
23:26
platform yes and so I follow a lot of
23:29
stuff that's happening on that that's
23:31
that thread seems to be a whole lot of
23:32
nothing it seems to be a whole lot of
23:34
just photos just like Instagram and it's
23:36
it's it's not really exciting to me but
23:39
uh I'm not I'm not interested in posting
23:41
what I think to anybody out there I
23:43
don't my opinion doesn't really matter
23:45
well that was the thing on X I don't I
23:46
never post anything it's just for me to
23:48
take and steal stuff from basically yeah
23:51
when I was on air you know you could get
23:52
a load of stuff off there some of the
23:54
big writers comedy writers and all that
23:55
sort of thing yeah you learn stuff and
23:57
it's a lot of it is amusing and I I I
23:59
fully admit to enjoying an occasional
24:01
cat video well yes yeah yeah no well
24:04
that's on Instagram telling my wife I
24:07
was watching a video of a monkey and a
24:09
chicken sharing a watermelon the other
24:11
day I couldn't get enough of it it's
24:12
almost like that was what the internet
24:14
was designed for it was just waiting for
24:16
Instagram to happen like I know but
24:18
that's that's that's I mean people say
24:20
you know you're a little bit slow to get
24:21
that thing finished it's cuz I was
24:22
watching the yeah I was watching a capy
24:26
bar is a tremendous value oh yeah the
24:28
most chill animal on the planet there Cy
24:30
videos on Instagram
24:32
yeah I just you know as far as blue sky
24:34
is concerned I I probably uh am going to
24:37
become a member just just to see what
24:39
all the hubub is about and just kind of
24:40
follow what's going on because if you
24:42
can get a couple of good ideas and get a
24:43
couple of good stories off that that's
24:45
that's you know what we're all about on
24:47
the show um but I I think it's a it
24:50
sounds like it's a worthy platform worth
24:52
getting on to but I I don't think
24:53
anybody I think people who are on X are
24:56
also going to be on Blue Sky the also
24:58
going to be on threads they're going to
25:00
be on Instagram they're going to be on
25:01
on on Facebook and a lot of different
25:03
platforms yeah they may not they may not
25:05
close their account on X but they'll
25:06
move over to the other one as well it
25:08
was funny it was almost funny sometimes
25:10
last week that some of the accounts that
25:11
were leaving X and announcing they were
25:12
leaving X yeah one was the Clifton
25:15
suspension bridge in Bristol in England
25:17
really yeah the the account for that
25:19
that keeps updates I suppose you know
25:21
whe Bridges closing whatever but yeah
25:23
they they famously they said we're off
25:25
we're off to Blue Sky why why do you
25:26
think don't know they they could do both
25:28
well they they're probably still open on
25:30
there but um I don't know little uh just
25:32
the way it was going leaving in their
25:35
droves I had a uh I have a very good
25:37
friend from back in Oregon who just
25:39
posted about an hour ago I'm off the
25:40
blue sky I'm going to go do that and I
25:42
thought okay thanks for letting
25:45
everybody know yeah when you famously
25:46
announce it is it like when you famously
25:48
announce you're quitting Twitter it's
25:50
all right you're making it you're making
25:51
a big thing this I know but yeah I mean
25:54
it's an odd thing that he'd want that to
25:56
because it's the way it's going a lot of
25:57
advertisers came off straight away off X
26:00
um once city law must took over and the
26:02
way it was going it's when he opened it
26:03
back up again is a allowing everybody on
26:06
there you know for me I I look at at at
26:08
the advertisers who left and I can't
26:11
even and I I looked at the name at the
26:13
names of the businesses and I said well
26:15
that's good that they did this that's
26:16
good that they did that and then within
26:19
10 minutes I had completely forgotten
26:20
about the businesses that had left you
26:22
know it's it's it's a you know my my
26:24
brain can only adapt and and absorb so
26:27
much as to who's leaving X it's just not
26:29
important to me no and and I understand
26:31
why you would want to leave I I get that
26:33
but uh it's it's you know for me
26:36
personally it's just not important no
26:37
you don't have to get involved you try
26:39
not to no we're all voyers anywh we're
26:41
all watching what everybody we're
26:43
watching everybody else's cat
26:44
everybody's dog everybody's chicken
26:47
eating watermelon you know yeah sure
26:49
just don't read the lower half of the
26:50
internet on YouTube and the like get
26:52
away from the comments that's true yeah
26:54
someone else has something to say anyway
26:56
I think we're just about out of time I
26:57
think we covered a fair bit there
26:59
including obviously the main stuff
27:00
that's going on at the moment and as far
27:03
as we we you'll be back with Cal next
27:04
Tuesday I will all right thanks so much
27:06
I'm glad I got another chance to do this
27:08
with you cuz we were denied it last time
27:10
du to a scheduling mixup we're going to
27:12
do two weeks in a row but it didn't
27:13
happen nope
