so you you just dropped something on us just as that record was playing there and um you you don't generally talk
0:05
politics with your brother um and of course you've had to speak politics with your brother for the first time in quite
0:11
a while and and you are different sides of the uh of the Divide aren't you so
0:16
and he was basically wiping your nose in it right he but he was having he was having none of the democratic platform
0:23
he was you know it's it's one way to keep your family happy is just not
0:28
discuss politics and there's to be a lot of politics discussed over this weekend American oh my God they're it's going to
0:35
be food thrown and unhappy people and and relationships broken up but yeah we
0:41
did we did I don't know how we got on it but my brother did bring up uh uh Trump and and that whole thing and I just you
0:47
know you you can't argue with anybody can you you couldn't you can't argue with your parents or or your brother or sister and we I just took it and I just
0:54
said I disagree with everything you said I I love him I do anything for my brother but you know it's
1:00
and what are you going to what are you going to do you can't win no politics at the dinner table over Thanksgiving guys
1:06
oh my God I can only imagine what it's going to be like we'll talk about Thanksgiving actually before we go today
1:12
um but um let's take a look at some of the stories that are making the headlines in the US of a Amazon workers
1:18
in 20 countries uh talking about striking on Black Friday better workers
1:24
rights and climate action on the bill but also uh Israeli killing of
1:29
journalists in Lebanon could be a war crime what are we talking about this is this this was another headline today I
1:34
see what we're talking about but first off then uh the Amon workers in 20 let's talk about something really important
1:40
including the US yeah making sure you get your Q-tips in the uh uh delivered to your home I would tell people if
1:47
you're going to order something by Amazon I'd do it now I wouldn't wait a couple of days um because there's a good
1:53
chance that over the next week or two weeks you're not you're not going to get it if indeed your Black Friday deal is a
1:58
deal because they're not all always make sure you check it out obviously uh but quite often you know they could be
2:04
cheaper at other times of the year uh but yeah so 20 countries uh all set to
2:09
strike that's quite a few including the US Germany the UK turkey Canada uh India
2:15
Japan Brazil coordinated by the make Amazon pay campaign uh so yeah they need
2:21
to they need to Jeff bessos needs to cough up he's got enough he does he does he does he really I guess he doesn't
2:28
think so I guess he does but 80 trade unions are behind this whole thing and uh uh one organizer said that Amazon
2:35
represents everything that's broken about the UK's economy insecure work poverty wages unsafe working conditions
2:43
I mean we we've heard this all before and uh you have to admit it's smart on
2:48
their part if you're going to strike this is the time to strike well yeah and they have before haven't they they've done this already yeah yeah yeah what
2:56
you have to wonder how far they got whether they actually got anywhere well I think that think they'll probably get a a some sort of an increase somewhere
3:02
down there but but if you got thousands of people going on strike they they're going to have to do something um they're
3:08
not going to be able to cut the entire si uh system down but one thing is for sure uh they are decentral the way they
3:16
become decentralized over the years and they've got um they've got outlets in every country and multiple outlets in
3:22
the states they must have 10 or 12 um outlets in the country um uh
3:28
distribution centers so we'll see what we'll see what happens but it does look like that the the global there's a
3:34
global Union um and a numberella group aggressive International which are actually pulling them all uh together so
3:40
it could be a United action across many different countries which is obviously not what they would have wanted really
3:45
so get get those requests in for whatever you're buying now and don't don't delay Jeff says it checks in the
3:51
post by the way checks in the post yeah meanwhile to the politics then the special Council Jack Smith then dropping
3:59
the election subversion case against Donald Trump well this was going to happen wasn't it um it it might not be
4:06
forever cuz it could come back after he's not president anymore right yeah uh it's because there's a um a law that
4:13
says you can't sue a cting president and so for him to pursue this for him to
4:19
pursue the whole thing about January 6th about the the riots on the capital to pursue the the documents in his bathroom
4:26
and pursue the um uh U the other uh court cases it doesn't make any sense he
4:32
could be completely wasting his time on top of that Trump said that he was going to fire Jack Smith you hey I don't like
4:39
him I'm G to fire him so but instead what's happening is Jack Smith's just going to go away and you're right he
4:45
could come back but I you know I think the smart money is that all of this is just going to go away um and I think the
4:52
phrase that we could use in from the movies is he got away with it well I thought that he could probably pardon
4:57
himself anyway but nobody's ever done that so we're not going to see that happen now anyway are we no nobody ever
5:03
had to do it but but yeah he was he's threatened to do that but now with Jack Smith dropping the uh dropping all the
5:10
claims um he's just going to be uh out there by himself now one thing you need
5:16
to know is that a lot of these states are still going to be pursuing the state of Georgia can still sue him the state
5:23
of New York can still sue him so that's still hanging out there but that's kind of a lesser charge and uh either way
5:30
he's not going to jail he's probably not going to serve a fine and there's there's not going to be anything from
5:35
this it's going to magically in in my estimation it's going to magically go away in the words of Vice
5:40
president-elect JD Vance the prosecutions were always political if Donald J Trump had lost the election he
5:46
may well have spent the rest of his life in prison yeah not anymore wouldn't that be
5:51
nice not if you're my brother it would absolutely uh so meanwhile there's
5:57
obviously plenty happening on the Trump front and his pick for the Pentagon
6:04
basically attacking the United Nations and NATO urging the US to ignore Geneva conventions as well this is Pete heith
6:11
right yeah this guy Pete heith is uh he's the one who's the fox weekend
6:17
co-host and he is uh really really carrying the banner for Trump and he's
6:23
the nominee for Secretary of Defense he's the nominee for say nominee still at the moment that is right he is the nominee for Secretary of defense
6:30
arguably one of the two or three most important positions he controls the most
6:35
powerful or would control the most powerful uh Army in the uh in the world
6:41
and he hates turkey he hates NATO um he is very very pro-israel very pro-israel
6:49
and he said uh if you love America you love Israel and uh that's one way to put
6:54
it but he he thinks that everybody's as he said sucking off the US te
7:00
and is uh everybody should be beholden to the US and everybody needs to pay
7:05
their fair share and there was another quote Europe has already allowed itself
7:11
to be invaded yeah I thought that was that was a very telling remark um I
7:16
don't know whether he's talking about World War II or World War I I I have no idea yeah twice he said so he allowed
7:21
itself to be invaded so talking about both world wars you know but but for somebody to say the defense of Europe is
7:28
not our problem been there done that twice which is what you mean it's it's
7:34
it's to me it's coarse it's indefensible it's uh it's enough to
7:39
raise the hairs on the back of your neck if you live in Europe or anywhere else
7:44
in the world and and you're an ally of the country so he's basically saying look we're we're not going to be there
7:51
to defend you anymore we're not going to be playing this game with you anymore and it's it's kind of sad so we'll see
7:57
what happens whether he backs off now the most important thing is whether or not he's even confirmed course that's
8:04
May yes because as everybody has probably heard he has he at one time in
8:10
2017 he was accused of sexual improprieties with a woman and uh they
8:16
settled out of court there was money changing hands and nobody can seem to find a trail on that but no charges were
8:24
actually filed so inadvertently you can't look at it and say well he didn't do it then he he admitted that he had
8:31
relations with this woman but he says it was consensual but that like a lot of the stuff Trump does that's that's that
8:37
dark cloud that's hanging over this whole thing and as it was with Matt Gates wouldn't be the first nominee to
8:43
not be a nominee anymore yeah or to withdraw put it I know I know but I but I would put I would pay put 5050 money
8:49
on on whether or not he's going to be confirmed or not but uh there are a lot of people that that think he's a little
8:56
too extreme and um unfortunately when you're on television and you you're on a
9:01
popular show like fox say there's uh your words are are uh on tape well as
9:07
recently is this year he said uh that the US forces should ignore the Geneva
9:13
conventions and other elements of international law governing the conduct of War we will rip off your arms and
9:19
feed them to Hogs yeah nice very nice what a guy he's the guy you want at your
9:26
next Christmas party so okay uh where else are we then um RFK Jr yeah um so
9:32
he's another nominee he'll cut prescription uh drugs and increase weed
9:38
and psychedelics access don't think anybody's going to be getting any injections or inoculations anytime soon
9:44
under him though he well you know what he's he's he said it both ways he's been interviewed where he said uh I I don't
9:51
believe in vaccines we're all vaccinated almost everybody in the world is vaccinated you can't
9:58
be o everybody's had vaccinations at some point in their life it seems but he says
10:04
that uh in other interviews that he's he is in favor of vaccines so he's he's
10:11
really riding the fence both ways but I I think you know the main man has been seen to say one thing one minute and
10:17
another another time so that doesn't seem to really matter in the current uh world of uh of of us politics uh so yeah
10:25
you can say one thing one day and another another day he called the US the sickest country in the world blaming its
10:31
Health Care system for devoting billions to the pills and potions and the powders rather than actually getting people
10:37
healthy uh building their immune system so the lot there's a lot against big farmer there but it is the big companies
10:43
that are benefiting from the Trump uh uh return to the White House you know it's a bit of an overstatement to say we're
10:49
the sickest country in the world but there is something to that because you can't rather one of the unhealthy
10:57
countries unth world yeah but it's uh a lot of people are on a lot of medication
11:04
and the medication just keeps going and going and the medication makes you sicker and and gives you other illnesses
11:11
so there is a little bit of Truth to what he's saying there but he doesn't have any public health experience though
11:16
I love the lot of number of Trump's picks don't really have a lot of experience in the field that they're
11:22
chosen for just a passing I don't know what his job is what is his job what is his background I I I I feel like he was
11:29
a lawyer at some point but you can't swing a dead cat in the US without hitting a lawyer he is an attorney yeah
11:35
he's an attorney and he's you know completely riding on that Kennedy name but uh certainly well he was he also
11:42
went up against Trump he was quite harsh about him yeah early on in the campaign before oh he he's called him some really
11:47
nasty names but then all of a sudden he uh it's okay if you jump Camp you're right again he jumped down camp and he
11:52
says oh my good friend my buddy yeah okay but he really as you said he's got no Public Health experience all he has
11:59
is opinions uh he's the guy who claims that vaccinations cause Autism um nobody
12:06
in fact knows what causes autism autism is a big problem in the US as it is in a
12:11
lot of countries um so I think unlike hesketh I think he's going to be
12:18
confirmed um I think that uh where that goes Nobody Knows as far as you know
12:25
what the the public health system but it is to the military it is about as big the
12:32
public health system in the US it's like the NHS I mean how one guy is not going to be able to change that one guy's not
12:39
going to be able to make well there is one guy who might be able to change yeah and he also has no
12:47
Public Health experience so we do know that when when Trump was in charge and
12:53
uh Co came around the whole the whole country was running around with their hair on fire they didn't know what they
12:58
were doing and and uh it's amazing to this day that we got through it Trump voters have been looking at the cabinet
13:06
picks uh they are basically saying they're getting the government that they wanted aren't they yeah they they wanted
13:12
change and and the feeling seems to be that in 2016 when he won he was even
13:18
Republicans will tell you that he was uh ill prepared for uh the job in filling
13:24
all these positions because a lot of the cabinet positions went unfilled for the first couple of months and you have a
13:30
defense department you had a Department of State there was nobody running it but this time he's got some people uh the
13:36
the one person that everybody seems to have liked and I don't know this guy or
13:41
know of him is the Secretary of the Treasury um that ever he was named about
13:48
two days ago and the market just jumped Market jumped up 400 500 points and it
13:53
turns out that this guy's got a really good reputation and everybody feels that he should be able to keep Trump in line
14:00
when it comes to all these tariffs and taxes that he's uh planning on doing um
14:05
Matt Gates as we know is out but there are some people that are very very uh
14:13
um very well not well thought of you know for any of these positions some of senior Republicans aren't quite happy
14:20
with the picks that's the way it's been going isn't it yeah that's right uh it's
14:26
there are a lot of people like Linda McMahon to run the uh um Department of Education Linda
14:31
McMahon is the wife of Vince McMahon of World Wrestling Federation um she has no
14:37
background in education um she uh Trump has said he wants to do away with the
14:43
Department of Education this is according to project 2025 which Trump claims he knows nothing about all he
14:49
would have to do spent about a half an hour reading it but oh no listen to us talking about listen to us we're talking
14:55
about it all the time but uh she's completely unqualified for that job uh
15:01
hesketh and and as you were saying tulsey gabard Tulsi gabard right now is up for the uh for a cabinet position and
15:10
she has taken very pro-russia stances in the past and a lot of people are very very aware even on the Republican side
15:17
that she has sympathized with Syria she has sympathized with uh erdogan she
15:23
sympathized with uh with Putin on a lot of things that kind of make you scratch
15:29
your head and say huh so yeah she's been quite outspoken in a number of different areas um I've
15:37
just been looking while at Scott bessent uh the chat that you were talking about no that was the pick for for for the the
15:44
finance job I think well he's at least got a background in finance he's a hedge fund manager and I think that that he's
15:49
going to pass through without any problem especially since right after they announced him we know how reactive
15:55
the stock market be as soon as that happened the market jumped meaning that have been buoyant though anyway since
16:00
Trump's Victory but they certainly did like that choice yeah that's very true that's very true ever since he was named
16:07
a lot of people have made a lot of money on the market over the past two weeks so we should be concerned about telsey
16:12
gabbard basically that's what you were saying yeah I think so because um I I have real doubts that she's going to be
16:18
confirmed but you know as a lot of people know she was a Democrat she was a
16:23
a congresswoman from uh Hawaii and uh
16:29
was very anti-trump and then all of a sudden she was prot Trump and very uh pro- Russia and pro um all of the Maga
16:38
standards and so if if you really dig down deeply into what she believes uh I
16:44
think the main criticism is that she has really cozied up to uh Russia and all of the philosophies
16:53
that uh they're spewing okay uh meanwhile uh the uh uh there is a a
17:00
peace deal apparently being spoken about we can't get anybody to confirm this but the Kremlin says the Trump Circle are
17:05
talking about a peace deal uh but um they're blaming Joe Biden for escalating well I'm afraid at the moment there's
17:12
escalation everywhere on both sides and um it's probably is because uh there has
17:18
been the rumor muted that Trump will bring things proceedings to an end very swiftly so it looks like they're trying
17:24
to gain as much as they possibly can before they are told to well get the
17:29
heads bang together by Donald yeah well uh Biden continues to escalate he
17:34
continues to push um to push zalinski to to escalate and to and to fight back and
17:41
to fight into Russia whereas well I you know I think the fact that the North
17:47
Koreans might have had something to do with that you know I mean you know I I don't like this like he's escalated
17:52
she's escalated whatever you know um there there's been escalation on both sides um and they've been reacting to to
17:59
situations and uh you know every everything that we're seeing though is that that the Russians have run out of
18:06
soldiers the ukrainians have certainly run out of soldiers and I saw a piece this morning where not only uh mothers
18:13
were were being um were being uh enlisted into the service but also
18:19
grandmothers there was a a woman who had had grandchildren at home who was carrying a rifle and learn learning how
18:25
to shoot so I think both sides are at their wit's end right now now uh Trump trump wants to negotiate but his from
18:33
everything I've read what he wants to do is negotiate that part of Ukraine will
18:38
stay in Russian hands that's his solution yes we can have a ceasefire yes we can have peace but Ukraine is going
18:46
to have to give up all of the areas that Russia is currently occupying no that's not on the table as far as ukra ain't
18:52
going to happen not even Crimea is on the table so you know that uh that that probably doesn't look like being over
18:57
immediately but at the same time as you said you know that both sides have been suffering terribly and Putin's three-day
19:04
War has turned into a three-day War which nobody really can manage um and of course the nuclear rhetoric is getting
19:10
wrapped up you know day by day on our news this morning you know we've got the
19:16
Spanish government furiously writing their War Journal basically explaining to people how to react if the war comes
19:24
as far as the Iberian Peninsula you got Germans researching bomb shelters
19:29
and um of course Finland basically everybody's ready to fight above the age of 10 um you know so it's it is a threat
19:37
it's a big threat it's not just for Ukraine it is for the whole of Europe and you know the sooner uh that people really get on board with sorting things
19:44
out uh the better the European union today have been talking about it they are saying that they will support they
19:51
are moving uh the uh area of supporting Germany to somewhere else so it doesn't have the US influence over it uh but um
19:58
I wonder if it's not all a little bit too late here for a number of these things to happen but we'll see you know
20:04
uh we we don't know really uh what Trump is going to say or how he's going to end
20:09
this in what the first day of his he's going to be doing quite a lot on his first day though isn't he let's face it well that's what he says I'm going to do
20:15
very first thing I'm going to do is then he list 20 things but your point is well taken that that America's looking at
20:22
this is it's how it's affecting them everything is about them everything is about how many bombs we have how many
20:28
how much money we're spending to come over here but but this is affecting every single country in Europe now as
20:35
you pointed out and it's absolutely true it's you know it's Spaniards building Germans building bomb sheltered
20:41
Spaniards wondering what to do where we could go what we could do and there are
20:46
couple of dozen countries that are involved in this thing right now so we would love it if it were ended I mean I
20:52
think we all have to be really clear we would love it if it all ended now but uh it doesn't appear that that's going to
20:57
be the case at least in the foreseeable future and of course as we know Donald Trump a lot of what he was talking about
21:03
when he was vying for his next presidency was about America First
21:08
making you know beginning at home uh and that's certainly uh the big thing that's
21:13
been in the news in the past day or so it's about deportation getting rid of
21:18
the people who don't have the papers to be in the US OFA which works for a lot of the people that voted for Trump but
21:25
maybe not so much for Farm owners and people who run big farms uh who need
21:30
those workers uh in the country to to help them Farm the crops as we've seen since brexit in Britain so there are 2
21:37
million Farm Workers in the country that's a lot of people and half of them are undocumented by by estimation so for
21:46
for the new uh uh head of uh uh of uh of
21:53
what am I saying the the border the borders are yeah this uh this guy Tom hom is talking about just kicking
22:00
everybody who's illegal out of the country well there it's estimated there are 20 million people there are a
22:05
million working in the farm business and As Americans know these are the people
22:10
who pick the crops uh there are very few Americans who are picking crops and and
22:16
working at slaughter houses and that sort of thing so the Homan clarified by
22:21
saying well the first thing we're going to do is we're going to go after uh people who are criminals people who are
22:27
bringing drugs people people bringing illegal and doing illegal things in the country that's what we're going to do
22:33
and then of course anybody who's in the country illegally after that so I I just
22:38
think that there's going to have to be a compromise there should be some sort of a path for a lot of illegal people to be
22:47
um be given citizenship papers or possibly there's a a thing called an
22:53
h2a uh Visa which means that somebody can work in the country legally
22:59
and they're paying into the they're paying Social Security and they're paying into the you know into the system
23:04
um but that's only a couple hundred thousand people so they have about they
23:09
still have a couple of million people they have to to to get into this uh system um it's the only solution they
23:16
it's a big job they kick all these people out and the cost of food is going to go way up of course and and there
23:22
aren't going to be all of a sudden there going to be a lot of empty shelves I mean there's not going to be any lettuce there's going to be no bro Tomatoes
23:29
potatoes what what what have you you might say potato yeah um yeah I it's
23:35
it's not just a big sweeping statement that's going to solve everything is it as we were seeing during the uh the
23:41
campaigning uh but yeah plenty to be done on the first day and tariffs tariffs tariffs as far as the I can see
23:48
uh also being muted uh or being talked about today and worrying places like
23:56
Canada and the like uh as the headline I think was about Canada and a few other
24:02
places wasn't it if we go back to that yeah Mexico and China it yeah and but he's tying these to drugs that's that's
24:09
the big thing everybody thinks about tariffs and trying to dissuade Chinese
24:15
the Chinese from flooding America with cheap products but that's true of every country in the world we all have Chinese
24:21
products you know and any Americans who are in the states listening to this now we have just as many products here in
24:28
Spain or in Germany or in the UK they're they're prevalent they are everywhere and leveling a tariff is not going to
24:36
keep them from coming in but what the US is trying to do is to get the chemicals
24:42
so Mexico and Canada basically uh flooding the US with uh fenel
24:48
particularly also it's a migrant issue there um and of course uh China flooding
24:53
the market with cheap uh the base for for for for the chemicals that make the drugs that are causing a problem it's
24:59
not a it's not a bad idea let's face it you know it's not a bad idea but but but
25:04
for Trump to say all the tariffs when when a tariff is levied that means that that means China's paying for it China
25:11
is not paying for a tar is a tax it means that you're paying you're going to be paying more for this Chinese material
25:17
now if that gives you pause to say hey I I don't want to buy this product because
25:23
it's Chinese that's entirely up to you but you're right about that tying it in
25:28
into uh to a country to any country that's flooding your country with fenel
25:34
or or uh drugs to make fentanyl which is a huge problem in the world but a
25:40
massive problem in the United States right now is the amount of drug addiction due to Fentanyl and which as
25:46
everybody knows is a man-made uh drug um none of it occurs in nature then I think
25:53
that that there's something to that whether or not he's going to be able to get that done I I don't I don't know I
25:58
did have a figure actually but it's gone there oh there it is actually um that um
26:03
$2,400 a year is what the trade tariffs could potentially cost us consumers well
26:11
the thought the thought seems to be that this guy Scott Bessant uh who's the hedg hunt manager is going to be treasury
26:17
secretary might be able to talk um Trump off the ledge a little bit here and get him because remember in the The Campaign
26:23
he was going I'm going to put a th% uh on
26:29
and 2,000% and everybody's everybody's going to pay but us well hopefully this
26:34
guy who's the Secretary of the Treasury is going to be able to talk him down a little bit meanwhile you didn't get to
26:39
see Wicked yet and you were dying to see it defying the box office uh it's huge
26:45
it's bigger than any other film have have you seen the play have you I I haven't know I know it's it's it's
26:50
beaten all Broadways place that have gone uh to film right I saw it on Broadway I saw it in uh uh in another
26:58
City and loved every minute of was Arana Grande in Broadway no she was not on Broadway she would have been very very
27:04
young but I mean the show's been around for 20 years so it's a great great show and I can't wait to see it I'm dying to
27:11
see it so I will see it though 114 million is in the US and 164 worldwide
27:17
so that's that's pretty good I want to see Gladiator 2 also that's uh the same thing I'm a that kind of guy I'll see
27:24
the musical and I'll see the Gladiator movie what what are you saying I'm saying I go both ways that's what that's what I
27:31
thought you were saying we got some ACDC on the way meanwhile Macy says that an
27:36
employee hit up to $154 million in expenses how would one employee you know
27:42
I read this hide that amount of money I read this story up and down I had to look at it again too and I can't figure
27:48
out how and and to say this that this guy is a or this person is a former employee goes without saying but I read
27:55
the story three and four and five times and I still don't how you bury this sort of but it's delayed Macy's have not been
28:00
able to release their third quarter earnings because of this $154
28:06
million buried somewhere uh and all in shipping charges right shipping it's probably hidden somewhere in the
28:12
Bloomingdale's account yeah blue Tails oh my gosh that's amazing isn't it yeah
28:18
it's it's pretty amazing and it all comes right before Macy's Big Time of the Year all of course all eyes in the country are on Macy's with the parade
28:25
and sure excellent okay so thanks Thanksgiving then uh we do need to talk about that a number of people aren't
28:32
always that of with the details of exactly what happens where why uh and how uh so how did it all
28:39
start well when I was a boy this a very very long time ago is that actually when
28:45
America came together in 1620 um so it all started in without
28:51
without getting into too much detail what happened was some Brits came over in 1620 uh landed in there were other
28:59
Europeans as well it wasn't just Brits I think they I don't know but but it was 1620
29:06
and they uh and they they landed in in uh in outside of Boston in uh in uh
29:13
Massachusetts uh spent the first year on the boat because they the winter was apparently so bad 16 weren't expecting
29:20
that were they the pilgrims they were not so they want they they apparently were leaving because of religious persecution but what they came into was
29:27
just awful awful weather um and so they stayed on on this boat the Mayflower
29:33
they weren't doing very well really were they no no and they were eating things like birds
29:39
fish uh seals things like that they were not eating turkeys and that sort of thing in
29:45
1621 uh the Indians were who were living in the area the red Indians the Native
29:50
Americans na the true Native Americans invited them to have a feast and so what happened was they had uh uh they gifted
29:58
turkeys to the to the pilgrims they did gifted turkeys that's right but apparently the first uh turkeys were
30:05
indigenous there was there was no record of a big bird at the feast uh they
30:10
brought deer I'm reading this now deer Seafood uh muscles Lobster bass and the
30:16
fruits of the first harvest uh they did not have mashed potatoes which is a current Feast it is so so that's where
30:23
it all started so pumpkin pie which is the thing I I I
30:28
I inhale pumpkin pie I love pumpkin pie so this went on uh for years in 1863
30:34
during the Civil War uh Abraham Lincoln proclaimed that in November there would
30:39
be a national uh Feast of Thanksgiving on on Thursday so Thanksgiving is always on
30:46
the last last Thursday of the month uh in this yeah Thursday and Friday of
30:52
course has become Black Friday so what happens is everybody gets a time off and for me it's my favorite holiday of the
30:58
year because it's a non-sectarian it's it there's no religion attached to this thing and the holiday it's all about
31:04
family right yeah for everybody who doesn't know this it's you get together with family and friends you get together
31:09
at somebody's house if you're lucky weather's usually rubbish weather is usually according to the films that we' se really bad really bad it is as well
31:17
again isn't it yeah just like the pilgrims and so they uh what happens is
31:22
that the traditional food is turkey stuffing mashed potatoes cranberries
31:28
sauce uh sweet potatoes my wife's favorite sweet potatoes um and mashed
31:33
potatoes and and that sort of thing uh and also then comes the watching of of football football American football on
31:40
is it the Macy's Parade first and then the football or is it the other way around no Macy's Parade's in the morning so usually the Macy's Parade is in the
31:46
morning and what happens is you'll watch the parade while you're preparing your food or somebody's preparing it while
31:53
you're watching the parade but every every and the Macy's Parade is on three networks at the same time really oh
31:58
everybody's airing it at the same it's the same parade you know but it's and they have Broadway actors and giant
32:04
balloons and that sort of thing and everybody watches it and then uh usually dinner is served anywhere between noon
32:09
and 2 o'clock and then the football comes on like 3 4 o'clock something like that there usually are two sometimes
32:15
three games being played on different networks um and that weekend is rivalry
32:21
weekend uh on college football that's when which is huge Michigan Ohio State
32:27
and and um uh um Virginia Virginia Tech that
32:33
sort of thing it's all these states where they have these you knowby Tabby matches yeah yeah yeah yeah and that is
32:40
that's the the big thing on on the weekend the Michigan Ohio State game is H for instance is a is a really big one
32:47
it's that's it's this Saturday um so I'm really looking forward to that um so
32:52
it's a big thing all people do is eat eat eat eat eat eat drink drink drink drink drink and nobody feels badly about
32:57
and they take four days off we used to say in in in Germany in NATO during the Cold War that um if there was any time
33:04
the Russians wanted to come over the hill it would be Easter because basically all the guys that were stationed there disappeared back to the
33:10
UK but um and there seem to be some reason why more people were meant or told to stay around at Christmas but
33:16
Easter just seemed to be the Exodus and I think I guess this would have to be the right time then if anybody was thinking about having to go with the US
33:22
OFA it would be this weekend Oh there's nothing going on everything is closed and I tell you you working the you working television or in the news
33:28
business or in radio oh yeah that's nothing going on it's like Christmas day nothing is happening Thanksgiving Day
33:35
nothing is happening un unless it's football and parades and people eating and and traveling and that and this is
33:41
and the biggest today is the biggest travel Day in the US of course today and tomorrow traditionally as as we mentioned the weather is bad weather is
33:47
going to be horrible this weekend especially in the east coast and uh um
33:52
and in the and on the west coast and they've been getting a lot of rain on the west coast right now how do it Rogan said on his podcast this week something
33:58
like the world's burning but um Biden's uh pardoning turkeys cuz that's a traditional thing yeah he pardoned the
34:04
they always pardon the turkeys to me it's whack whack whack you know it's it's a little silly but they pardon the
34:11
turkeys apparently that that this goes all the way back a hundred years uh
34:16
until when Lincoln was president and his son Tad said oh Father I really like this turkey and so Lincoln pardon the
34:22
turkey no it's a tradition yeah it's all kind of silly but love it well have a great Thanksgiving weekend um I hope you
34:28
get together with the family at some point at some time uh and know it's going to be a little bit difficult but it should happen at some point right
34:33
take care I'll be back [Music]
