Do you know why he does this?

Do you know why he does this? Whenever you speak to him, that little head tilt. It is arguably the cutest thing in the world. But he isn't trying to be cute. He is trying to bridge the gap between two species. Psychology offers two fascinating reasons. First, it is visual clearance. Try putting your fist in front of your nose. It blocks your view. Right? By tilting his head, he is moving his muzzle out of the way just to see your mouth move to read your lips. Second, and most importantly, he is adjusting his outer ears to filter out the background noise. He is physically blocking out the TV, the traffic, the wind, so he can lock on to the specific frequency of your voice. It is the highest form of active listening. He is analyzing your tone, your emotion, your soul. He is saying, "I don't speak your language, but I am trying so hard to understand you. So keep talking to him." He is listening with his whole heart.
