hey everyone happy new year it is a new year so you know what that means is there's gonna be new
0:10
cars and here at AutoGuide we try to drive everything but at the start of every year there
0:15
are some cars we just can't wait to get behind the wheel up these are the ones we anticipate the
0:20
most so we're gonna go through a quick list here of eight vehicles that should come out this year
0:25
if everything goes to plan and we cannot wait to drive. We're going to go through them in alphabetical order, so let's get started
0:38
Alright, so kicking things off, we have the BMW Neuer Class A
0:42
Now, I know this was already supposed to be out. It was supposed to actually come out last year and we swear it is coming and BMW is
0:49
pretty certain it'll be this year along with the Neuer Class A X, which is the SUV to go
0:54
along with the Noe Class A sedan. Now we don't know much about the new vehicle
0:58
other than BMW claims it is the future of the brand and it's supposed to be sort of an extension
1:04
of one's living space and has lots of new styling while still incorporating BMW elements
1:10
The Noe Class A isn't just a vehicle or even two vehicles, it's gonna be a whole new family of vehicles
1:15
and chances are it'll be fully electric. So we already really like BMW's electric vehicles
1:20
so we have high hopes for this SUV car family. Now next up is a pretty easy one and that's the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
1:35
The specs on this car sound ridiculous starting with the fact it makes over 1000 horsepower in a
1:41
Corvette with a full warranty. That's just nuts. It's already gone over 230 miles an hour in testing
1:47
and although we don't know the actual Nürburgring time yet but we're pretty sure it'll start with a
1:51
6 and we're also real confident it will be the fastest American production car ever to lap the
1:57
ring. In fact, it'll probably rival some of the best times period for so-called production cars
2:02
Now the ZR1 won't sell in huge numbers, but it's crazy to think something that sold alongside the
2:08
Equinox and Silverado could be one of the fastest cars ever made We can wait to try this car out So sticking with America we have the Dodge Charger 6 Now I got to drive the Daytona
2:26
the Scat Pack, and the RT which are the all-electric versions but we're really looking
2:30
forward to the 6-Pack which signifies the gasoline powered versions. Now the 6-Pack
2:36
refers to a turbocharged inline-six which will be in these vehicles. No V8s or Hemi's as of
2:41
yet but although we'll miss the sound we aren't going to miss the power because the three liter
2:46
turbocharged engine is going to make 540 horsepower in the top trim coupe that's more power out of a
2:53
three liter turbo than any bmw m3 or m4 currently sold that's crazy the daytona ev i drove had
3:02
excellent road manners and although you could feel the weight was really well in control so an
3:07
even lighter, just as powerful version that makes proper noises, sign me up. I can't wait to drive it
3:20
Next is the return of an icon. Well, at least an icon for people of my generation who remember the
3:26
last Honda Prelude and how awesome it was. It was the best handling front-wheel drive car and
3:32
it could actually rival a lot of rear-wheel drive sports cars in its day. So Honda is bringing in
3:37
back and it won't quite be the same as the car remember from the 90s this is gonna be a hybrid
3:42
and there'll be no manual transmission but Honda said there will be simulated shifts that should
3:47
add some engagement and enjoyment but probably the bigger and better news is it should also have some
3:53
parts taken from the Honda Civic Type R when it comes to the chassis and suspension so once again
3:58
it should be an excellent handling vehicle and maybe the best handling front wheel drive preload
4:03
And maybe if we dream the Civic Si or even Type R drivetrain will find its way in there one day
4:10
Probably not. But for now, we can't wait to test it out. So stepping away from our car heavy list so far, we have the Hyundai Ioniq 9
4:25
For those that aren familiar this is going to be Hyundai three row SUV that is all electric So basically the sibling to the current Kia EV9 Why both companies use a nine I don know these vehicles only seat seven but that doesn matter We saw it at the
4:40
LA Auto Show and we're impressed by its looks and we can't wait to give it a try because the EV9 is
4:46
a very good vehicle so we're wondering how the Ioniq 9 will drive in comparison because currently
4:51
when the two brands have siblings they have their own identity. Sorrento, Santa Fe, Telluride
4:56
Palisade so we really look forward to seeing how this is and if it has over 300 miles of range it
5:02
could be a great all-electric family hauler but we won't know until we get to drive it
5:13
Now we're going to step over to Polestar. The all-electric brand has some ambitious plans for
5:18
2025 and that includes the launch of the Polestar 5. Now this is going to be their halo vehicle
5:24
It's targeting the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the Lucid Air
5:28
And that's some pretty serious machinery to be using as your benchmark
5:33
Kyle got to do a pre-production ride along this year and he was impressed
5:37
So we can't wait to get our hands on the finished example and test it out for ourselves
5:41
Because having driven plenty of Airs and Taycans They're some of our favorite vehicles, never mind EVs
5:48
So we have high hopes for the Polestar 5 and now possibly the most controversial vehicle on our list the porsche boxster replacement that
6:04
for now we're just calling the boxster ev or the 718 ev or whatever you want to call it the current
6:09
718 gas powered cars are some of our favorites in terms of driver enjoyment so we really are curious
6:15
how Porsche is going to translate that to all electric. Now there's been some delays and
6:21
hopefully it does come out this year but judging by the Taycan and the Macan EV Porsche knows how
6:26
to do EVs right and make them still enjoyable and fun. This is probably the vehicle we have the
6:32
highest hopes for yet we're the least sure about because as I said the Boxster 718 Cayman have
6:39
always been such fantastic driver cars and we really hope Porsche nails that same sort of feel
6:44
and formula with electricity powering instead of gasoline but only time will tell so moving on to another all company we have rivian and currently they just have the r1
7:01
they have the s suv and the t for the truck and both are sizable vehicles but they're not
7:08
the largest things on the road but being sort of more high-end vehicles are also kind of pricey so
7:13
this year Rivian is going to bring out the R2. Now this will be a smaller all-electric SUV about
7:19
the size of a Toyota RAV4 Honda CR-V and rumor has it pricing could start in the 40s and Rivian
7:26
has also mentioned it should be available with a single dual or triple motor powertrain so there'll
7:32
be a vast spectrum of how you equip the vehicle and obviously its pricing and we also expect
7:38
different variants to come including maybe an off-roader and like their other vehicles there'll
7:42
probably be a ton of accessories. We're really curious to see if Rivian can take the well put
7:47
together overall EV and shrink it down to a smaller more affordable size. So of course once
7:54
one of these vehicles is available we need to test it out. And finishing our list is an icon that finally finally is getting a new version but it's going
8:09
to be a little controversial we're talking about the Toyota 4Runner it's going to come with
8:13
turbocharged four cylinders and regular hybrid mode and soon Kyle's going to actually get to
8:17
drive it now the traditionalists are upset the v6 is gone but we've sampled these powertrains in the
8:24
Land Cruiser which the 4Runner is very closely related and that brings up another question is
8:29
how is it going to differentiate itself from the current Land Cruiser now Toyota says both vehicles
8:34
are going to track a different kind of buyer so we're really curious to try it out and see exactly
8:38
how that's going to work and how the 4Runner does differ from its sibling
8:42
So there you have it. That is our list of the eight vehicles we cannot wait to drive in 2025
8:48
We're sure your list is going to differ from ours. So let us know in the comments what vehicle you really can't wait to learn more about
8:55
or get a chance to drive in 2025
