Original Space Mountain Returns to Disneyland Paris with Restored Cannon at D23

De la Terre à la Lune is BACK! Attractions Magazine is live at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event for the massive Space Mountain announcement from the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase and the Imagineering presentation. Disney just confirmed it - Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland Paris will close by the end of 2027 to bring back the original 1995 classic - Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune! In a D23 presentation on Sunday, Imagineers Michel Den Dulk and Tim Delaney revealed the full restoration: The 22-meter-long Columbiad Cannon is being fully restored! Stationary since 2009 due to frequent breakdowns, the iconic steampunk cannon will once again launch riders from 0 to 44 mph into space - just like opening day in 1995. This is the Disneyland Paris equivalent of bringing back original Journey Into Imagination - an homage to French visionaries and Jules Verne that fans have been asking for since it was rethemed in 2017.
