(Then were the days of unleavened bread,)” (Acts 12:3). “And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people,” (Acts 12:4). This is the only mention of Easter in the Bible. And for that reason, I declare it a pagan holiday and not a biblical holy day. “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him,” (Acts 12:5). Note, what was done, who did it, and how? First, the Church made a prayer (singular) to God for Peter. This wasn’t one or two persons praying but many Believers. What did the Lord say about this? Where two or three are gathered in my name, I’m in the midst of them. How did they pray? Without ceasing! What does this mean? Why did the Church pray unceasingly for Peter? Because when we pray without ceasing about a particular problem God sends help for us. “And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison,” (Acts 12:6). What happened when you don't PUSH? What is PUSH? P- ray U- ntil S- something H- appens Don’t PUSH! The Lord desires that you take your prayer to a higher level! Pray Until You Get What You Are Praying For! According to Acts 12:5, “Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him,” (Acts 12:5). There are other examples of this in the Bible. “But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John,” (Luke 1:13). Note that this is a singular prayer. The Bible says, “your prayer is heard”. That’s one prayer. Now, let’s look at Cornelious. First, we know that he was a prayer warrior. He prayed to God always (Acts 10:2). To the extent that God was delighted with his prayer life and his giving. Yet some of us don’t even share our possessions with others. God is watching and unpleased with many of us!

On arrival, they recounted their experience with the “kindred of the high priests”. Then, they all prayed as a unit. The prayer of the apostles is important It is from this prayer that we will learn how the apostles pray? Their prayer was a story that explained who Jesus is! First, they praised the Lord as God. They say, “Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:” (Acts 4:24). Having praised the Lord as the Creator of the world, they proceeded to show by scriptures how God had said it would transpire. So, second, they prayed using scriptures. “Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?” (Acts 4:25; Psalm 2:1-3). This King David said in the Book of Psalms. “The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.” (Acts 4:26). Third, they explained how these particular prophecies of David, in the Book of Psalms, were fulfilled. “For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together” (Acts 4:27). “For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done” (Acts 4:28). Fourth, they brought the threatenings of the Sanhedrin Council before the Lord. And then they made three petitions to the Lord. “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word” (Acts 4:29).
