What Is The Difference Between Teaching And Preaching Jesus?

On Monday of this week, I asked my wife, what is the difference between teaching and preaching? She thought about it for a few moments then she said, "Preaching is an impassioned speech!" In the First Century Church, daily in the Temple and in every house the Apostles ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Today, many Christians don’t understand the distinction between teaching and preaching. What did the Apostles teach and preach concerning Jesus Christ? Should contemporary Christians continue to teach and preach Jesus Christ? These are the main questions I will address in today's video Bible Study. The main Bible reference is Acts 5:33-42. What Does the Bible Mean by the Word of God Increased - Could The Words of God Grow? “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith” (Acts 6:7) I'm Leroy A. He was of honest report, full of faith, the Holy Ghost, power, and wisdom. Could someone please explain what the Bible means by “the Word of God increased?” I know literally, this is impossible because “the word” cannot grow! “And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith” (Acts 6:7) However, naturally, “the word” cannot replicate itself. But spiritually, because the word is a seed, when more people received and believed the Word of God this means that it has increased. This was the case with the church above. When “the number of disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly” and when many of the “priests were obedient to the faith” this describes how the Word of God increased! This means that many, many more people believed the Gospel, and the Church grew!! “And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people” (Acts 6:8). How did two preachers with no equipment add 5000 believers to the Church in one day? How did they do it? Today, we continue our Book of Acts Bible Study. We are at Acts Chapter four, namely Acts 4:1-4. Hello, Students of the Word! Here is a great Study Bible: https://amzn.to/3N26cEo Today, I will show you why you should persist in your endeavors even when they are unpopular! In yesterday’s Bible Study, I showed you how Apostle Peter, explained to the citizen of Jerusalem the advent of the prophet. He explained to the Jews that Jesus is that prophet that Moses prophesied would come. And that he indeed has come. He came first to the Jews to turn them from sins. In today’s Bible Study, Peter continues to explain Jesus Christ. Because Peter preached that God raised Jesus from the dead the Sadducees were angry. When Peter says, “Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus” this infuriates the Sadducees! (Acts 3:26). “And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them” (Acts 4:1). I'm Leroy A. Daley of "Blogging About The WORD". It caused an uproar in the city of Jerusalem to the point where it got the Sanhedrin Council's attention and involvement. “And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes” (Acts 4:5). These were the members of the Sanhedrin Council. They were “rulers of the people” or political leaders of the people and “elders of Israel” or religious leaders of Israel. These include, “... Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem” (Acts 4:6). These apostles healed one man and all the religious and political leaders of the day were curious! “And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, by what power, or by what name, have ye done this?” (Acts 4:7). These men knew that there is no power without a name! Where there is no name there is no power. Where there is no power there is no authority. So, without a name, we get nothing done. They were curious about the source of the Apostles' power. Apostle Peter and John were threatened not to teach or speak in the name of Jesus Christ. Students of the Word, let me ask you, is this an encounter with the spirit of the antichrist? This happened soon after they healed a man born lame. Today, we continue our Book of Acts Bible Study. We are in Acts Chapter four, namely at Acts 4:13-23 I'm Leroy A. The Council continues to interrogate them. But why did the Council marvel at the boldness of Peter and John? “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13). Whenever Jesus heals a person through a Believer there is never any doubt that such a one is healed! “And beholding the man, which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it” (Acts 4:14). The Council didn’t want to take a decision concerning Peter and John in their presence. So, they asked them to step aside while they consult with each other. “But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,” (Acts 4:15). Why would they desire to hurt these two apostles of Jesus Christ for healing a lame man? Many people and most of them are Christians have wondered, how did the apostles pray? But, today you don’t need to wonder as we will explore one of the prayers of the apostles to learn from it. On arrival, they recounted their experience with the “kindred of the high priests”. Then, they all prayed as a unit. The prayer of the apostles is important It is from this prayer that we will learn how the apostles pray? Their prayer was a story that explained who Jesus is! First, they praised the Lord as God. They say, “Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:” (Acts 4:24). Having praised the Lord as the Creator of the world, they proceeded to show by scriptures how God had said it would transpire. So, second, they prayed using scriptures. “Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?” (Acts 4:25; Psalm 2:1-3). This King David said in the Book of Psalms. “The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.” (Acts 4:26). Third, they explained how these particular prophecies of David, in the Book of Psalms, were fulfilled. “For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together” (Acts 4:27). “For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done” (Acts 4:28). Fourth, they brought the threatenings of the Sanhedrin Council before the Lord. And then they made three petitions to the Lord. “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word” (Acts 4:29).

What does it mean to be of one heart and one soul? In Acts 4:32 the Bible says, “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common” (Acts 4:32). What does this mean? Today, I will explore this! I'm Leroy A. Daley of "Blogging About The WORD". My website is www.atotheword.com. Daley "Living Soul: In The Image of God" https://amzn.to/2A2BJFJ "The Golden Candlestick: The Seven Spirits of God" https://amzn.to/380aMiz We have been traversing the New Testament through this Book of Acts Bible Study. In the last Bible Study, we looked at how the Apostles prayed. Immediately after their prayer, the Lord showed them in a very unique manner that He heard and approved their petitions. Today, we are at Acts 4 verse 32 and we will investigate what the Bible means by the Christians were of one heart and of one soul. “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common” (Acts 4:32). In this Bible Study, I want to focus on the first phrase in Acts 4:32. Namely, “And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul” (Acts 4:32). The state of one heart and of one soul is a feature of Believers in Jesus Christ. It’s a phenomenon of Christians! As a result, note that the Bible says, “And the multitude of them that believed” (Acts 4:32). This is not a state or a feature of the nations of the world but of the Church of Jesus Christ. So, to understand what the Bible means by one heart we will go to 1 Chronicles 12:38. It reads, “All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king” (1 Chronicles 12:38). From this Scripture, we come to understand that to be of one heart means to be of a perfect heart. Therefore, a perfect heart is a fixed heart. It is steadfast. It’s not wavering or doubting but convinced. Thus, to be of one heart is to be on one accord. However, the heart (or the spirit) for that’s another name for the heart, and the soul are always in disagreement. We observe this when your spirit prompts you to pray now. But, instantly your soul will oppose this desire. Its objection will manifest in an urgent need to accomplish some mundane task. For example, you need to call some important person that you should have called now. This is one of the major reasons Christians fast, to subdue and control the soul. I did a Bible study on this and will leave a link to it in the description below. As a result, our souls and spirits are always at war with each other until we learn to afflict and control our souls. Eventually, when we attain to the state of one heart and of one soul, we could only accomplish this by the working of the Holy Ghost. God must intervene for us to get there. He says, “Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the Lord” (2 Chronicles 30:12). “And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:” (Jeremiah 32:39). “And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:” (Ezekiel 11:19). As a result, the Lord intervened in the First Century Church. Since then we note that all the Believers in Acts Chapters One to four were all on one accord. “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren” (Acts 1:14). “And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place” (Acts 2:1). “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,” (Acts 2:46). “And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, ...

Many Christians get this wrong, the apostles “gave witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ”. Is this talking about proof that Jesus Christ rose from the dead? Or that the apostles were eyewitnesses of his resurrection? What does this mean? Join me today as I continue studying the Book of Acts. I’m at Acts 4:33, today I will answer all these questions and more. I'm Leroy A. Daley of "Blogging About The WORD". My website is www.atotheword.com. What does it mean that “with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus”? First, it means that they openly declared that they saw the resurrected Christ. In other words, it means that they say that they are eyewitnesses of the resurrection of Jesus Christ! The Bible says that “with great power” the apostles declare that they are eyewitnesses of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This means that they didn’t just speak of it but they show that they possess the identical power that resurrected Jesus. How, with many mighty works and signs and wonders? Every apostle must demonstrate the “signs” of an apostle. One of the most renowned apostles of all times explains these “signs” to us. He says, “Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds” (2 Corinthians 12:12). Not what Paul says, “Truly the signs of an apostle were” done, performed, or demonstrated “among you in all patience” Facebook:- https://www.facebook.com/LadBATW https://www.facebook.com/leroy.a.daley Books by Leroy A. Two other brethren, members of the First Century Church in Jerusalem noticed this! They were Ananias and his wife Sapphira. When this husband and wife team saw what Joses had done they had an idea. The Plan!! They also owned land. They decided that they were going to sell their land too but they planned to retain a portion of the sale’s price and not tell the apostles about it! (Acts 5:3). “But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession” (Acts 5:1). At The Apostles' Feet https://youtu.be/RdxCELb-ha8 They wanted to prove whether the Holy Ghost was operating through the Apostles. As a result, they agreed together to sell their land also. So, they thought out their plan and then executed it! “And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet” (Acts 5:2). “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” (Acts 5:3). “Whiles it remained, was it not thine own[,] and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power[,] why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart[,] thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God”[?] (Acts 5:4). “And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things” (Acts 5:5). “And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him” (Acts 5:6). What Is The Source of Your Information? Every piece of data we encounter originates from a source. What is the source of the information that you allow into your heart? They didn’t realize that this “idea” didn’t originate from them. Subsequently, their plan wasn’t theirs either but someone else’s. Listen as Apostle Peter explains that they have been ensnared. “But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” (Acts 5:3). At what point did Satan fill Ananias’ heart to lie to the Holy Ghost? When he and his wife decided to sell their own land and to lie about the sale price of it. 4 Sources of Information But they fall into two broad categories: Internal and External Sources. The Internal Sources Our own thoughts (via our own spirits) The thoughts of the Lord via the Spirit of the Lord Examples of internal sources are: “For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled” (Revelation 17:17). “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them” (Hebrews 10:16). The External Sources The thoughts that the Devil places into our hearts. The thoughts that the Lord places into us. These two categories of sources present us with sensory perceptions that impact our choice When both Ananias and Sapphira accepted “their idea” to lie about the sale price of their land, they unwittingly accepted an input into their minds from Satan. “And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him” (John 13:2; Acts 5:3). This is one reason we must be vigilant. We must always be evaluating all the information we encounter to determine its source. “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life” (Proverbs 4:23). “Keep” in the context above means to protect and maintain. You should protect your heart from contamination. And simultaneously maintain its purity. Similarly, “all diligence” means by all means, with all constancy and earnestness. Thus, “keep thy heart with all diligence” means that we should protect and maintain the nature of the information that we allow into our hearts with constancy and earnestness. Because what comes from our heart defines us.
