independent wrestling independent wrestling has developed a strong cult following over
0:15
the years in North America as well as some other countries Canada Puerto Rico
0:22
Mexico many other places what is the
0:27
lure of independent wrestling for fans for wrestlers for
0:33
promoters just the whole lure of independent wrestling everyone knows WWE
0:40
the World Wrestling Entertainment Vince McMahon and his characters such as Hulk Hogan John
0:46
Cena King Booker Caro The Big Show ECW Smackdown
0:53
everything that is run under the Titan Towers World Wrestling Entertainment umbrella you're looking at the setting
1:00
the setup of an independent wrestling show the ring crews the promoters the
1:05
ring announcers the bookers you're looking at what goes into setting up an independent event you have
1:14
your building rentals you have your advertising booking and contacting your talent you have your matchmaking your
1:21
scripts your storylines wrestlers right here working as ring crew to set up for the event so
1:30
there's much more that goes into being a professional wrestler on the independent circuit than just wrestling
1:37
the wrestlers here they meet and greet family friends as they arrive at the event and start to get set up for the
1:43
event the fans coming in through the ticket takers the children the backbone of independent professional wrestling as
1:49
well as the backbone of World Wrestling Entertainment and NWATNA as well because without these fans there
1:56
would be no independent shows because these fans provide the financial
2:02
support for these independent shows independent shows by and large do
2:08
not make a lot of money so we're going to find out tonight what drives the promoters what drives the wrestlers and
2:16
what drives the fans to continue coming out to these independent wrestling events from the small spaces of the
2:22
locker room that you're looking at right now the small venues they play the many
2:28
miles they travel the wear and tear on their bodies and the notorious load
2:34
chaos for providing or performing their craft in front of generally small
2:41
audiences what is the lore of independent wrestling for the fans and for the wrestlers on this DVD we're
2:50
going to find out as indie wrestling is now exposed
2:58
i'm Don Brower i'm owner of the UPWA what first got you interested in the wrestling business uh I was always a
3:04
fan growing up as a kid um I really enjoyed it and I said when I was in high school I wanted to get involved and
3:12
basically when I moved to North Carolina I met a great man by the name of uh Mark Ash and he got me involved with ICW and
3:17
it's been fun ever since so this something you see yourself doing long term yeah I I really enjoy it it's fun
3:23
it's a it's a break i get away for a couple days and I get to live like a kid it's like you know most kids wanted to be firemen or wanted to be police
3:30
officers or something like that i wanted to be a wrestler and I get involved with the business and I love it
3:35
so is there any real money made in independent wrestling um not casual
3:41
somebody's looking for it just to get into it it's a really up and down business because sometimes you know you
3:46
can only please half the people half the time and you know it's one of those you get a few people who you know love the
3:53
show there's other people who don't and you know you never really make a lot of money i'll never strike like a
3:58
millionaire strike rich how can we uh keep up keep it keep keep in touch with
4:05
what's going on with the UPWA keep up to date we we try to br uh get our information out there as many as
4:10
possible but the main site is uh we have our own site called uh
4:17
www.thupwa.com we always post the the new names coming in the UPWA the um all
4:23
the upcoming shows everything going on and that's that's probably the the best way to get in touch and uh I'd have to
4:28
say Carolina Independent Wrestling has been very good to us too other than that you [Music]
4:42
know
4:47
[Applause]
4:58
[Applause]
5:04
Yeah heat
5:13
[Music] this piece of [Music]
5:20
[Applause]
5:26
[Applause] man once the show gets going and the
5:32
action is in the ring you can see the wrestlers try to react they do their best to get their moves down the way
5:39
they practice them the way they rehearsed them the way they set them up at the same time trying to keep the crowd involved in the
5:46
action fans as you see here in the ring a little bit quiet during this match the
5:51
idea the object is to get this crowd riled up as loud and as noxious as you
5:56
can get them while at the same time everyone is doing their job the wrestlers are working their moves to
6:03
their perfection the referee maintaining control and the messenger of sorts for
6:09
the wrestlers from to each other as well as from the promotion end of it we have the ring announcer the timekeeper who
6:16
makes sure that the matches don't go longer than the time frame allotted on the show for them he also plays
6:21
cheerleader keep the crowd anticipated now that we've seen a lot of this stuff we're going to start talking with the
6:28
fans and the wrestlers themselves hey what's your name
6:35
talk loud what's your name brian brian what's your name jordan jordan y'all enjoying the
6:42
matches tonight have you been to one before yes who's your favorite who's your favorite
6:48
tonight you me y'all don't really know who you don't have a favorite who do you
6:54
Who did you not like tonight so far red Bull red Bull you didn't like Red
7:00
Bull who did you not like who did you not like
7:09
sable sable you guys watch wrestling on TV a lot yes
7:14
who's your favorite on WWE john rey john Cena rey Mysterio rey Mysterio who do
7:23
you like on You watch TNA yes yes who do you like on TNA sting sting sting sting
7:30
who do you like big Papa Pump you like Christian you like Jeff Jarrett
7:38
you guys come out to these live events or what yes jennifer what's your name steve how long
7:45
you been wrestling fans dude uh 1980 since 1980 how about you since Hulk
7:51
Hogan since Hulk Hogan socks that's been two days before Dirt who's your favorite
7:57
WWE character i don't know i mean there's a few of
8:03
them it ain't Cena it ain't Cena oh shut up i take it John Cena's your favorite
8:10
cena you guys watch TNA i haven't been with it who do you Who who draws
8:16
your attention the most in Samoa Joe samoa Joe the ultra fat wrestling
8:22
machine yeah he's going to be another Wahoo McDaniel i'm not you're not in the TNA no I mean I watch it but I don't
8:30
have one channels like USA now I know you come out to a lot of live
8:36
events i've seen you many times what What draws you to these smaller independent shows
8:42
first of all accessibility accessibility um I mean it's good that you got something going on in your own hometown
8:48
you know you I mean I don't got to drive to Charlotte or you know takes Arcana or some place i mean I can I can come here
8:56
and you know see some people I know it's a relaxed atmosphere very
9:02
enjoyable and uh I mean I don't have to walk 2.3 miles from the car
9:10
and one thing I've seen earlier on this film you really get into it you bring a lot of signs yeah what what draws what
9:17
what gives you that extra Well I I mean I'm like the only person
9:22
that does this here but uh I see it on TV and a lot of the stuff you put on there is really freaking hilarious and
9:29
it's like this is partly a tribute to those wrestling fans but it's also my way of
9:36
uh kind of bringing that element here because you don't see a lot of people in this area getting too much really real
9:44
passion or excited about things i like to come in here and act stupid and hold up a sign says your mom was good or
9:51
something like that you know well I know we're in Wilmington North Carolina and there's been several promotions around here icw uh NACW UPWA event tonight who
10:01
are who are some of your favorite wrestlers on this smaller
10:06
oh Park Ash Dave Renegade Dark Star Solitude
10:14
who are some of the guys that you really like to get get on their nerves who do you like to aggravate out of all these
10:19
guys prison prison that would be Pete Nixon or the felon
10:25
the one that was like Curly from the Three Studios whatever his name is uh that's probably Pete Nixon the ballhead
10:30
guy yeah well they're both balls but the big fat one that he he's all mouthy
10:36
to the crowd would you have actually you would you say you have more accessibility to actually like communicate meet and talk to the
10:43
wrestlers on this level definitely i mean you you know when you go to WWE
10:49
shows you're going to be able to talk to some of them maybe for two or three minutes but I mean if you really like
10:55
professional wrestling you know and you really like to talk to people that are in the
11:00
business you got to go to uh regional and local shows you got to a lot of
11:05
people don't realize just about everybody from Hulk Hogan on down has started on the independent level and
11:12
worked their way up so you expect to see any of these guys maybe in the WWE ring say a few years down the road i mean
11:17
that's definitely could be happening because um I mean when somebody's got a great talent the word gets around you
11:24
know they there's a lot there's people that have started here or kind of had a
11:30
base here i mean like for instance uh I know Ricky Morning well he's already already famous and everything but he's
11:36
got a place down here at Shalot man i mean you got a lot of people that um Darkstar was on NWA national
11:44
television wrestling against Ric Flair Tony Blanchard wrestling against other guys and he he was a high school
11:50
wrestling coach you know Andrew Bellamy right here out of uh Wilmington right
11:56
and it does it shock you to sometimes see what these guys do for a living like Dark Stars or waiter Golden Corral i saw
12:04
him cutting me a guy's yard when I was reading water man right he did own his own lawn cutting business like Mark Ash
12:10
correctional officer to a prison um Solitude former Marine which is which is
12:16
his character i mean does it shock you sometime to see what these guys actually do to to make a living well I mean yes
12:23
and no um because you you know that when you're working in the local area you
12:28
know that it's not the this is not like a big revenue area you know you know
12:34
that the guy's got to you got to live especially in Wilmington and the cost of living is through the roof and and I say
12:41
that whatever a man does makes him a better person for developing character working to make ends meet it can only
12:48
serve to enhance his experience in the ring bring more to his character now outside the big crowd and of course
12:54
the big three theatrics with the lighting systems Titan shrines and all that what would you say is the big difference between what happens in the
13:01
ring say in WWE and what's happening here tonight in
13:07
UPWA um I say the one of the biggest things
13:12
is the passion and the fans like it's kind of hard for me to
13:18
understand like there's I know a lot of people in Wilmington like wrestling and you tell them about the local wrestling
13:24
events you don't really see them when they come here they're not that into like you like they should be you know we
13:30
we get excited but you know we can take it to a whole other level i mean y'all put on some great shows in here I think
13:37
you know um another thing is you know maybe the promotion side of it maybe you
13:42
can get some local free time on uh channel uh local access television and
13:47
do promos between the shows because that that will help you with your storyline continuity right the
13:54
media definitely does not jump on our bandwagon as much as they would when WWE comes to you know the local areas and
14:00
right I mean do you think that these smaller promotions being done an injustice
14:09
yeah I mean I think that it would be good I I
14:16
always wonder why the uh sports page of the newspaper didn't feature local professional wrestling they'll put it in
14:22
lifestyle They'll put it in weekend okay they're going to wrestle at Riverfest but you
14:28
know I'm thinking man WCT can come out here with a Red Cross do a blood drive
14:36
hey we're out here here's Mark Cash we're talking to him for a minute mark Ash throws down a promo but then the
14:41
match he's going to do in an hour from now you know against Dark Star whoever he's going to wrestle you know what I
14:46
mean you know I'd like to see media and some other promotions like
14:53
the Red Cross or Make a Wish get together and do
14:58
a live uh you know some live promotion all right well thank you Steve it was good
15:12
time
15:19
yeah
15:32
heat
15:37

19:41
all right buddy i hope you had a good time all right thanks now all right we're talking to Carnage now longtime independent wrestler how long have you
19:47
been going Carnage it was great how you doing how long you been wrestling uh 12
19:53
years 12 years what got you started uh well I watched it when I was a kid when I was when I was like 5 years old I
20:01
started watching wrestling back in the day when I was at WWF back to guys like Bruno San Martino
20:07
superstar Billy Graham uh you know all those major players back then pitch was
20:13
a big compromise would you say uh let's see i started with a small organization
20:18
in Virginia called Ultimate Championship Wrestling uh was a small promotion they trained me and uh that's where I pretty
20:25
much started working so you worked with a lot of big names over the years who have you worked with oh my god the list
20:31
is endless man abdul the Butcher uh The Mass Superstar Manny Fernandez
20:38
uh The Iron Chic all right um damn uh Earthquake Tommy Rogers Honky Tonk man i
20:45
mean the list is endless man endless how long you think you'll keep doing this uh hopefully for let's see 12 years now
20:53
probably i'm hoping for at least maybe another five to 10 I hope all right man good show tonight thank you very much
20:58
take care man all right bud all right now we've got Wilmington zone Son T S T
21:06
S T S T S T S T S T S T S T S T Syler the UPWA Heavyweight Champion tonight son how long have you been wrestling now
21:12
eight years eight years what got you started in the business grew up loving watching wrestling ran
21:19
into a guy by the name of Mark Ash sorry sucker yeah you know I've heard
21:26
some things but hey let him go yeah he got me into business got me started
21:33
now I know you've you've gone a long ways in eight years who all who's some of the bigger names you've worked with oh Lord
21:40
ivan Coloff Rick Link Carnage
21:45
carnage Mark Ash Barbarian Tony Atlas Ricky Morton
21:53
too many to name you've probably been many different areas outside of North Carolina where else have you worked at
21:59
in Ohio West Virginia Tennessee Georgia Florida you think you've been doing this for a while to go i hope so as long as
22:06
my body will let me amen to that brother all right man good match tonight appreciate it pete Nixon how long you
22:13
been wrestling uh roughly about almost 3 years now been training since I was 14 i
22:18
worked my way up the ladder so what what really got you interested in wanting to do this um when I was younger I was a
22:24
wrestling big big wrestling fan and uh when I turned about 13 14 I saw there was a school it's the same town I lived
22:30
and I said "You know what i've always been a big guy and loved it so much that that kind of motivated me to do even better." Well this is a independent show
22:37
down in North Carolina where are you from i'm from New Jersey we're about uh 10 and a half to 11 hours away from here
22:43
so when you actually got got started training who were you working with um I was working with Jersey AllPro and I
22:49
worked uh first setting up their rings then I became a manager for a wrestler named Crazy Eyes and um he brought me
22:55
around to different places and I went to the AWA school in Union City and then I
23:01
went to ACPW school in Lake Hayawa you met who gino Careso cariso and the
23:07
lovely Andrew Anderson and Playboy Marcus Shields yeah who all right
23:12
playboy Marcus Shields how long have you been in business i've been in the business four years 4 years yes what got you interested in wanting to be a
23:18
wrestler uh I was 3 years old running around the house around Wrestlemania 3 my uncle sat me down i was watching lots
23:25
of fantast so when you bust in training wise who
23:31
did you work out with uh you trained with Gino Caruso and Andrew Anderson training
23:38
did a lot of um worked with Scott uh Fred Samson a lot of lot of
23:43
guys up there scott Pro Crowbar Nunio Crowbar um Dan the Man Jimmy Snook and
23:49
Kamala Kamala so we're talking about legends like Jimmy Snook and Kamala how many of you wrestled in a in a match i
23:55
wrestled I had the honor wrestling uh Kamala in a match and it was the greatest thing cuz it actually let me
24:01
body slam i didn't I didn't ask for it he just let he gave it to me that's a
24:07
gift that can't be given twice and uh I also had the privilege just recently wrestling pro all right now we're going
24:13
to move over to Andrew Anderson uh these last couple of guys have credited in their training how long you been
24:20
wrestling now too long too long what got you interested in wanting to be a wrestler
24:26
well actually I originally wanted to be a rock star because you know it's it's sort of sexual sort of thing you know
24:31
when you see all these screaming naked ladies outside the doors i figured I figured wrestling would have that sort
24:36
of same effect but you know what it actually did dude tell the truth tell the truth you said you wanted to be the juggernaut i wanted to be the juggernaut
24:43
no seriously um I was bouncing in a bar in Jersey and uh
24:50
uh a little fat man with a mullet came off and pretty built guy some Owen fell by
24:57
the name of Jimmy Snooker walked in and uh they said to me u I was I was walking
25:02
out of the bar with a guy who was 6'7 on my shoulder a fireman carrying in New
25:08
Jersey and I threw him out and I turned around and the little Simone fell goes "Brother I want to talk to you i need to
25:15
talk to you brother." So I came over got inebriated with this guy it happened to be Jimmy Superfly Snooker and his little
25:22
uh troll friend the metal maniac a lot of people don't like him i don't know if I still like him i've known him too long
25:29
but um he's all right I guess so they uh brought me up to Lake Haywa where I was
25:35
introduced to Gino Caruso the Kodiak Bear Rocky Jones uh former WWE tag team
25:42
champions the Executioners and I had my first tag team match within four months against the Executioners beat the
25:48
out of me from there I had a my match with um Jimmy Snooker the Metal Maniac a
25:54
tag part of the Metal Maniac i wrestled with probably most of the biggest names from WWE from the 80s gino
26:02
Santana um Tony Atlas uh I wrestled all over the world Hawaii Australia
26:13
I did some stuff for ECW ECBW AWA HIW FY wrestling with Don Morocco uh
26:23
you name it I did it already and uh I had the pleasure of training a bunch of guys training with a bunch of guys i
26:28
don't take credit for training them they train hard they worked hard they trained themselves bill Nixon played by Marcus
26:34
Shields the referee right here to my right so I had pleasure getting away
26:40
with Mark Ash he's filming this right now smile Mark that was a nice backdrop yeah there you go um um Carnage has
26:48
lovely nipples he's standing behind me manipulating his his genitalia so and
26:54
um that's pretty much it uh you know I I had a nice career i just got off working
26:59
test i worked a few shows with um I got I could go on i go on I don't know how
27:05
how much tape he got but I go on forever uh Probar one of my dearest friends worked a bunch of matches with him had
27:11
the opportunity of doing a war games war games match 6 months ago um who's great
27:17
uh I have a a pretty cool manager Doug Devito sports agent i still think he's gay but you know just cuts hair for a
27:24
living so that's an inside joke so let's talk to the referee here greg K
27:30
i'm a little bad with names i don't think I caught yours tonight what's your name man christy Crest christie you got
27:35
into refereeing how long you been doing that uh I've been refereeing for about a year and a half now uh long story behind
27:41
that i actually trained as a wrestler but uh started refereeing about a year and a half ago and did a great job and
27:47
been doing that ever since you think you'll be doing this for a while or you going to move into wrestling uh I'd like to get into wrestling uh I'm just happy
27:52
to be in the business to be honest with you uh I love the business i love being out there uh so whatever I get to do to
27:58
be part of it fine by All right well let's shoot straight here now I know on
28:03
the independent circuit new experience you do a lot of long road hours and very little payoff does that bother you
28:08
paying your dues that way no doesn't bother me at all again I love being a part of everything with just the people uh meeting everybody hey you know it
28:15
really doesn't bother me you're in it for the girls i'm in it for the girls for the girls unfortunately there aren't
28:21
many here tonight not many here tonight not many go after referees either all right good job tonight man thank you
28:26
thank you our fans at the UPWA event tonight what's your name richard Davis richard Davis and from my understanding you work at a local radio station that's
28:32
right news director for Cumulus Broadcasting 980 Wave WQ Country and uh Coast so how long have you been a
28:39
wrestler fan uh my whole life my dad used to build rings for Smoky Mountain Wrestling Jerry Jarrett and those guys
28:44
and been a wrestler fan my whole life yeah I remember Smoky Mountain i've worked there a couple times myself good stuff so you've been a wrestler fair
28:50
growing up who's been some of your favorite wrestlers over uh Ric Flair Arn and Ollie Anderson the Four Horsemen um
28:56
the uh Texas Tornado uh some of those old guys big WCW fan myself uh The Rock
29:02
Triple H love the Eels all right shoot straight with me not going to hurt anybody's feelings how would you rate tonight's action compared to I say
29:10
definitely definitely a nine out of 10 tonight it was a good show really impressed the hell out of me good deal so you'll be back again absolutely
29:16
december 2nd all right now what's your name buddy my name is the greatest man never on camera well you're on camera
29:24
now so this is a first this is a UPW first so my understanding you work at a
29:29
local radio station also like I said they never see me they never
29:34
see actually people say my looks are made for radio but in the world I let him off the hook i let him off the hook
29:40
the guy behind these looks are definitely made for radio for radio
29:46
got Andrew Anderson promo shot here he's also a plusing the metal maniac the man who discovered me metal maniac you know
29:52
a lot of people don't like him nobody likes also a Michigan fan he's got two more weeks how long have you been a wrestler he's also a Giants fan though
29:59
giants fan we won't hold that against you yeah all right all right all right all right enough enough enough so how long you been a wrestling fan man let me
30:06
tell you since I was around 10 27 right now um that's a lot of math but hey you
30:12
know what this is good luck i feel great i'm in UPW so yeah that's 17 years about 17
30:20
years so who have been some of your favorites over the years man let me tell you uh my favorite of all time would
30:29
have to be and I'd either have to go with Bret Hart or Ric Flair or the great one Rocky
30:38
Johnson so how would you rate tonight's action compared to some of the other stuff you sent
30:43
man my wingman just gave it a 9.10 so I like to do it a little bit better than
30:49
him i'm going 9.5 there you go so you'll be back again I take it you know this all right man glad
30:56
you had fun tonight no question all right thanks sir no question big Dave Renegade we're of course at the
31:02
Independent Show in Wington North Carolina you're definitely a local fan favorite uh how long you been wrestling now 12 years 12 years what was one of
31:10
your inspirations to get in the business i believe was uh actually grew
31:16
up watching back during the day used to have their big matches and uh
31:24
used to love watching [Music]
31:33
light just pretty much just loved watch
31:41
used to play wrestling a little bit but uh kind of found my way into fighting
31:48
and martial arts for years and years and years finally found my way into the ring
31:54
um our very first match uh I went up against this young man called Rusty
32:01
Assassin doing a doing a little show for some old people of course I beat him up
32:06
but that was a long time ago believe his name is Mark Ash
32:11
but Dave you and I we've been we just been around the horn a lot together we've been up and down the road uh
32:18
nobody can tell you about the road as well as as well as uh
32:25
myself of course you uh Viper uh Carnage
32:32
uh James the Beast Night Beasley there's so [Music]
32:38
many through the thick and the thin and the hardships of independent wrestling uh everybody can say what they want to
32:46
about independent wrestling but independence is where so many people cut
32:52
their teeth i've worked with so many people and as soon as you gone to WW WCW
32:59
DCW and I love this of uh watching them and remember the days
33:05
back when we had the time anybody that's coming up through the
33:11
independence learn one word one little word that's called respect respect for
33:17
who you wrestle and what you do and you do okay all right thank you for your
33:22
time Dave a young wrestler wrestles under the name of Red Bull how long you been wrestling now uh probably about 8
33:29
months now about 8 months what uh got you interested in wanting to be a wrestler um basically being able to
33:36
travel uh getting to meet new people see different people uh see different places in the world um the money is interesting
33:43
to me also um couple other guys so they were in it for the girls well maybe that
33:48
too but there's a lot of things you know a whole lot of things that uh appealing to me about it you know being able to uh
33:56
use my physical gifts or abilities to make a living all right of course you
34:02
are a wrestler i'm going to take it you've been a fan for a number of years uh who would you say were some of your favorites growing up uh definitely
34:08
Roadware Hulk and Roadware Animal were two of my favorites also big fan of Sting and also Hulk Hogan you had a
34:14
chance to actually get in the ring with any of the legends yet um no I haven't but the closest I have I've been in the
34:21
ring with a former WCW wrestler so um you enjoy working independence
34:28
yeah there's some there's some things traveling is kind of uh tedious at times you know but uh of course the notorious
34:35
low payoffs yeah definitely definitely that but you got to have you got to start with the end in mind i mean you
34:41
can't think about it right here right now you got to look at that years down the road and you know you got to make
34:47
sacrifices if you want to become something great so I understand that all right man we wish you the best of luck
34:53
okay thanks a lot thanks buddy one of the members of the UPWA ring crew what's your name brian Gordon brian Gordon so
35:01
I'll take it to you a wrestler fan to get involved in this end of the business who Who would you say some of your
35:06
favorites hulk Hogan hulk Hogan stone Cold Steve stone Cold how do you like the uh feel
35:13
of let's say the smaller independence like you were at tonight as compared to uh you've been to a live WWE event so
35:19
how would you how do you like the feel of the small independence compared to the larger scale i like you can see a
35:25
lot more a lot more interaction with the wrestlers so do you see yourself uh becoming a
35:31
wrestler in the future i'd like to be you'd like to be uh give me some good advice find a good trainer and listen
35:37
well all right but before you ring out Sir Constant Wilder
35:42
what got you involved in wrestling well I've always been a fan of wrestling since Mid-Atlantic had came along and uh
35:50
my favorite two wrestlers when I was growing up was Rock and Roll Express and I loved you know I always hated I'm a
35:57
co-op and and those guys but every Saturday afternoon at 3:00 I was sitting in front of the TV watching it and even
36:03
after I got married you know the Mid-Atlantic right before it became WCW and all that it was coming on late night
36:09
so I had a couple channels you know that was poor TV cable and all that but I loved watching it and then when I got
36:15
the opportunity to become a referee um I started doing that and and you know
36:21
after a while we decided that I was a little bit too tall for some of the matches so then I got involved in in
36:26
ring announcing which I love being part of the show i mean it's like an adrenaline rush i mean we've tried I've
36:33
tried myself to get out of the business about four or five times and it's like you get the bug and you come back in and
36:40
and you it's like forget it you you're you're you're it's like in your system
36:45
and it's like your white blood cells or your red blood cells you can't get it out so you got to keep right on going so
36:52
I have a wonderful time and I work with a great group of people including Mark Ash yeah I know what you mean i've tried
36:59
to walk away two or three times myself so you think you're hanging around a while yeah we're not I'm not I used to
37:05
promote uh Coco promote with my husband and my my son-in-law and got out of that
37:11
it's just a lot of work you just Some people do not realize how involved it is
37:17
just to run a wrestling show i mean because you're working 2 or 3 days prior
37:22
to the show like 8 hours a day getting posters ready signs ready name tags
37:29
making sure everybody's booked and then you got to get there set up the ring and tear it all down and and I'm at a point
37:35
in my life where I like be able to take my suitcase and walk out the door when I'm ready to i ain't got to worry about
37:40
somebody putting chairs up or taking a wrestle ring down and you can just sleep you know tell everybody goodbye and have
37:47
a good time all right thanks a lot mark will tell you what goes on behind the scenes and if it's fake or not well
37:54
wrestling per se is I fake is not a good word to use okay do we know who's going
38:00
to win or lose before we get in the ring yes we do um as you can see last match guys when you guys are at I broke a
38:07
broke a bone i mean so it's not fake somewhat just with a scripted ending
38:13
um because average person couldn't get up and take the beating that we take it's just they just couldn't do it um so
38:19
there's a lot of hard training in it now behind the scenes you deal with people's egos you deal with people i mean it's
38:25
it's just like anything like anything else there's there's backbiting there's backstabbing there's then there's people
38:31
that are easy to get along with there's you know the camaraderie the family atmosphere sometimes i mean it it all
38:36
varies there's just But behind the scenes it's just like behind the scenes of anything else there's there's the good and the bad the rules of this match
38:43
first month are there are no rules that for no choking with the with the chain
38:48
and the winner has to touch all four corners consecutively [Music]
38:54
huh no more sorry
39:02
how [Applause] about this the winner has took all four
39:08
consecutively dragging their opponent
39:42
i'm not sure about
40:06
[Music] Uhoh i'm scared
