What's up guys, it's Kristen from Anime Collective. So today's video is going to be a bit unique for
0:04
the channel. You guys know I am not a sneaker channel. There's tons of channels out there
0:08
already doing that well, but if you've seen my recent room tour, you know that in addition to
0:12
statues, manga, I'm a huge fan of sneakers as well. So I'm a huge fan of not only Gundam
0:18
but I'm also a fan of Nike as well. So when they announced a collaboration, it was like the best
0:22
of both worlds for me. So today I'm going to be taking a look at something really cool for you
0:26
guys, the SB Gundam Dunk High that are inspired by the RX0 Unicorn Gundam in destroy mode. Now
0:31
they are also coming out with a pair of SB Dunk High inspired by the RX0 Unicorn Gundam 2 Banshee
0:37
in destroy mode that haven't been released yet, so keep an eye out for those as well. These ones
0:41
are special though because not only are they highlighting one of my favorite mobile suits of all time, but they are the first release I've ever been able to cop on the sneakers app. With that all
0:49
said, let's take a look at the Unicorn SB Gundam Dunk High. All right, so mobile suit Gundam Unicorn
0:54
is one of Brad and I's favorites in the Gundam universe. It's part of the Universal Century
0:58
timeline, which is the longest-running timeline with a franchise that has over a 40-year history
1:03
It was first released as a novel that was written by Harutoshi Fuku and was later adapted into a seven OVA in 2010 Banajer Links is the pilot of the RX Unicorn Gundam which inspired the SB Gundam Dunk High I showing you guys today
1:16
But what these really are inspired by is the Unicorn Gundam in destroy mode which has a much
1:20
more intricate look than the latter. A number of kits have also been released to the Unicorn Gundam
1:24
including a PG-160 kit. Bandai also released exclusive high-grade kits of the Unicorn and
1:29
Banshee that they made in collaboration with Nike as well as two SD-sized figures that show them
1:34
wearing the SB Gundam Dunk High. The Unicorn has one of my favorite mobile suit designs though
1:38
so you know I had to have these. It's just really clean looking. The psycho frame which peeks through
1:42
the white armor with that pinkish red color is really striking, so as far as sneaker collabs go
1:47
the Unicorn was a perfect choice. They really highlighted the hard lines you see on the armor
1:51
of the Unicorn and they added some vent and panel line-esque details that are characteristic of the
1:55
mobile suit as well. They even featured the separation you see on the Unicorn from the inner
1:59
frame to the psycho frame to the armor with the various insets here that go from gray to pinkish
2:04
red to white. The swoosh, which is made to look like the Unicorn's V-Fin, is removable and attaches via Velcro
2:09
It comes with two swap outs, one that is yellow in color and another that is metallic gold
2:13
This is one of my favorite elements they added because it really brings everything together and it just a unique design that really looks like the V with the geometric patterns they added into the swoosh You can further customize these to your liking with the four sets of laces that come in the box The white ones came already laced into
2:29
the sneakers, but there are also green, red, and yellow laces included as well, which are all colors
2:33
featured on the Unicorn Gundam. On the side, they included the Unicorn Insignia with one difference
2:38
They made the eye of the unicorn look like the Nike swoosh, which is a cool touch. Underneath it
2:42
they have lettering that says RX0 Dunk High and Warning, which is something you commonly see on
2:46
mobile suits as well as the decals of the kits. The insignia though, more than anything, really
2:51
identifies these along with the V-Fin swoosh and the colorway. Another detail I thought was nice
2:56
was a green Nike logo on the ton, which to me symbolizes the green eyes of the unicorn. I'm
3:01
happy they went minimal with the green though because this color is seen very little on the
3:05
unicorn when it's in destroy mode. These also came with some water slide decals that feature decals
3:10
seen not only on the Unicorn Gundam, but also Nike-specific ones as well, featuring the
3:14
swoosh, Nike, and SB logos. But Brad has plans to use these on a future build, since he's the one who tends to get
3:20
all of the Unicorn kits, but these were a really cool touch, especially for those like
3:24
us who like to build Gundam kits as well. I absolutely love these they really celebrate the Unicorn Gundam and after getting them in hand I can wait to see the Banshee SB Dankai as well I really hope this is the first in a long line of Nike Gundam collaborations and hope to see them move into even more anime and manga as well Demon Slayer in
3:41
particular would be really cool with all the patterns you see on their clothing, also anime
3:45
where they are shown wearing what look to be Nikes but for copyright purposes aren't like Dor
3:49
Doré. And of course, more Gundam because they really hit this one out of the park. It's one of
3:53
the best anime-manga collaborations I've seen so far. We've gotten the Unicorn and the Banshee is
3:58
up next, but we'd love to see one of the Phoenix as well. The Unicorn SV Dankai went up on November
4:03
10th on the sneakers app and to no surprise of mine, they completely sold out. They are up now
4:07
on sites like Goat and StockX, albeit for a markup. The size I purchased, for instance
4:12
retailed for $110 and they are now going for $242 USD, but if you missed out on these and still want
4:17
to get them, I highly recommend checking out those two since they authenticate the sneakers they sell
4:21
on their sites. I'll link to those in the description below in case you'd like to check them out. And there you have it
4:26
Hope you guys enjoyed this unboxing. If I get any more anime or manga Nike collaborations in, I'll be sure to unbox those on the channel also
4:33
I also have a streetwear-themed statue unboxing on the way that shows a certain character in
4:37
the Air Max, so stay tuned for that as well. Thanks so much for watching as always, and I'll see you guys next time
