Welcome, this is David Brooke from AIPT
0:10
We have a review of the Spider-Man Legends 2 series Moon Knight
0:17
We just got this. It's still for pre-order at most sites, but we were lucky enough to nab an early copy
0:23
So let's get started. So first of all, look at the packaging
0:27
I like the side pictures here of Moon Knight here. Looks like they're identical, but nice little touch
0:36
The back gives you a little information on Moon Knight himself, as well as all the characters
0:42
in the series. Obviously, the build-a-figure is the Vulture wings. But really excited to open this figure because it's the new Moon Knight from Jeff Lemire's run
0:58
Actually, no, Warren Ellis' run. And yeah, let's open this
1:07
Packaging is the same for this Legends from the Legends series last couple years, couple waves
1:20
So right off the bat, you'll notice that Moon Knight is really in there because his cape
1:26
is holding him back through this tight window. So you're going to want to grab the cape and kind of pull it through this hole. Okay
1:37
So now that we got him out of the packaging, it looks like we have a couple moons that
1:51
he can hold or throw. And then obviously a stick to fight with and two different hands
1:57
These look like fists because he's got open hands to grab the moons, the moon arangs
2:05
you might call them. And then you take out the plastic that's holding him
2:12
Pretty simple Moon Knight symbol in the back. That's kind of a nice touch, even though it's simple
2:15
And then the wing for Vulture. Got a nice hinge, a lot of detail in the wing, and a nice paint job too
2:25
Of course, you're going to need to get all of the figures in order to build these wings out
2:32
All right, let's open these fists. Take it out. As you can see, it all just kind of pops out if you push
2:45
This piece of tape though, keeping the moons in. Ooh, they kind of stick to the tape
2:56
That's a nice little... That way they don't just fly off. They're very thin plastic
3:04
Ooh, they're very tiny. You could lose these really easily. There's a bit of an edge to it
3:14
You can see right there. That gives it a little bit of a depth
3:17
And it's pretty strong. It's not going to bend really easily. It bends back to where it was
3:23
That includes the little ones too. All right. Ooh. And I just lost a moon
3:29
All right, that's back. Okay. And then the fists. Unfortunately, this one has a bit of a bad paint job on the thumb
3:40
The white kind of bled into the thumb. Good detail in the knuckles though
3:45
Look how they pop out. That's pretty good. Paint job is similar to this one
3:54
The thumb is a little bit white. There's a nice... They glued a piece of moon to the back of his fist there
4:02
So it's not just paint. It's also a piece of plastic. That's pretty cool
4:06
All right, let's look at the figure. So, he's got the body type of..
4:15
I'm familiar with this. It's similar to all the newer Selenjan series
4:22
He's got a sort of a rib cage place to bend. He's got the double hinged knees
4:35
And there's good movement in the ankle. There's a ball there. And the wrists are actually kind of interesting
4:44
Because if you can see, they don't bend the usual way. They actually go up and down, as you can see there
4:53
Whereas these, fists, bend in the conventional way
5:03
So the cape is pretty good. It's pretty hard plastic. So it's not going to..
5:08
You're not going to be able to pose it, really. But it's always going to look pretty straight
5:13
So when you pose him, it's not going to necessarily want to go that way
5:18
But standing-wise, it actually helps him stand up. And it's actually a separate piece, as you can see here
5:29
The top of his cape is part of the head mold. Looks like you might be able to... No
5:35
No. I don't think you can take this off. It's actually glued pretty good on the back of his head
5:40
Not that you'd want to. The interesting thing about this figure is you can see that the shoulders, the forearms
5:52
and then even the moons on his hands are all glued pieces on this part here on his ankle
5:58
All glued on. And they're really sturdy on there. Can't get them off
6:02
And that includes the chest piece, too. It moves a little. You might be able to pop that out, actually, it looks like
6:07
But it's a separate piece. That includes the back here, which has a peg hole at the back
6:12
But then also, these parts on his waist are all glued in
6:19
Pretty much in there. So instead of paint job, they kind of just glued pieces onto a black figure
6:24
Kind of a neat thing. And then if you look closely, his eyes are blue
6:30
Light blue. And there's some nice detail on his face. Really nice detail on his face
6:35
And then you've got the conventional superhero muscles all around, including the thigh muscles
6:40
Not a lot of detail on the butt, if you're into that
6:46
And then he's got the double joint for the arms. And he's got some pretty good movement, even though there's this extra piece here
6:55
Pretty good movement up and down here. Pretty good movement here. He's a pretty thick character, though
7:05
Unlike Spider-Man, who's very thin, this is a bulkier character. I don't know if that's something you're not into or not
7:12
So overall, this is a pretty cool action figure. So overall, this is a really cool action figure
7:20
It's different with these plastic pieces that are glued on. There's a nice detail on the nose and the mouth
7:27
You can tell it's like a mask. The eyes are really haunting, which is great for this character
7:32
And the feet have like a sneaker kind of look, which is kind of a newer thing you're seeing
7:37
more with styles of characters. But overall, some great detailing, especially in the top of the mask
7:46
You can see there's a seam, as if it's a real mask
7:51
And he looks pretty badass, I have to say. And then clearly, this is the baton that actually came with the Daredevil last year's
8:01
Legends series. Overall, a good figure, I think, and definitely worth 20 bucks
