How's it going, Gobo? My name's Gary
0:02
with AIPT. It's such a pleasure to meet
0:04
you and uh thank you for taking the time
0:06
to speak with me.
0:07
A nice to meet you, silly creature,
0:09
Gary. I'm glad to be here with you.
0:11
Cool. Um, how are things going down uh
0:13
how are things going with you down there
0:15
in Fraggle Rock?
0:16
A, they're going great. This is my
0:17
favorite time of year. I mean, I love it
0:19
when the tunnels in the caves get all
0:21
covered in ice like this and it gets
0:23
kind of cold and cuddly and we get to
0:25
sing our favorite songs and play winter
0:27
games. It's the best.
0:29
Nice. You know, we have something
0:32
similar up here in outer space, like
0:34
during this time of year, uh, we get
0:36
together with friends and family. Um, do
0:39
you have something similar? And what
0:40
kind of tra traditions do you have this
0:42
time of year?
0:43
Oh, yeah. I mean, it's really important
0:45
to us freckles because it gets kind of
0:46
cold down here on the rock. And so, you
0:48
know, we kind of stay warm by filling
0:49
our bellies with with food the Boober
0:51
makes and and singing songs together and
0:54
and just kind of, you know, keeping the
0:56
warmth of our friendship, you know, a
0:58
and we definitely like to make the most
1:00
of this time of year.
1:03
Um, you mentioned food. You know, the
1:05
holiday season's my favorite time of
1:06
year because there's so much great food
1:08
to eat.
1:09
Oh, yeah.
1:10
Uh, what are your some of your
1:11
favorites? Oh, well, Booer makes an
1:14
amazing candied radish during this time
1:16
of year, and we love it. You know,
1:18
Fraggles line up from all across the
1:20
rock to get to get some of that. And um
1:22
well, also we make a a ginger uh radish
1:25
soup. It's nice and warm. Kind of keeps
1:27
you warm inside on the cold days, you
1:29
know. And uh and Boover makes his his
1:32
root cake, which um
1:34
it's um divisive.
1:37
Some love it, some don't.
1:39
Fair enough. You know,
1:42
you know, I've been told that uh snow,
1:44
particularly the first snow, is
1:46
important to fraggles.
1:47
Uh where I'm from in outer space in San
1:49
Diego, we don't really get that much.
1:51
Oh, no.
1:52
But what are your favorite activities to
1:53
do in the snow uh in Fraggle Rock that I
1:56
should try out if I ever get the
1:58
opportunity?
1:58
Oh, that's a great question. Well, yeah,
2:00
and this year was really special because
2:02
we get snow here in Fr, but we get it
2:04
from the ice caves. The doozers bring it
2:06
and then we kind of play in it, you
2:07
know. So, we had those traditions. But
2:09
this year was the first year we actually
2:11
had a snowfall
2:13
and so that was really cool. But uh we
2:15
love things like like Red loves to sled
2:17
in it. You know, she and Pogy have a a
2:20
contest every year about who can sled
2:21
the fastest. And uh and of course Booer
2:24
uses the snow. He melts it down because
2:25
he says it's the best kind of of water
2:28
to cook in. That's also debatable. And
2:31
and Moi loves making snow angels, you
2:34
know, in the snow. A and and and and
2:36
Wembley, he makes the best snow fraggles
2:38
I've ever seen. They look just like all
2:40
the Fraggles. So, we all kind of have
2:41
our own special traditions. And for me,
2:43
I just love looking around the great
2:45
hall, seeing all my friends play and and
2:47
just, you know, celebrate being
2:48
together.
2:51
And um you you talked about you love
2:53
singing with your friends. Sure do.
2:55
What kind of uh holiday seasonal songs
2:57
are there in Fraggle Rock?
2:59
Oh, it's hard. you know, actually every
3:01
year I'm in charge of writing the so,
3:03
you know, the song of the season and uh
3:05
usually it comes to me pretty easily,
3:07
but this year for some reason it was
3:08
really tough. And so that's why I had
3:10
to, you know, I I had a little I had to
3:12
get a little inspiration. And so luckily
3:14
my uncle Matt invited me for the very
3:16
first time to outer space and I met
3:18
silly creature Lelay and she taught me
3:20
all sorts about about singing from your
3:22
heart and and trying something new, you
3:25
know. So So that's how I came up with
3:26
this year's song. But we have all sorts
3:28
of songs we love to sing, you know, like
3:30
I'm trying to think of of a good one
3:32
like um uh Radishes Roasting on an open
3:35
fire and um let's see, I have to think
3:39
of some other ones, but yeah, music's a
3:41
big big part of this year.
3:43
Cool. Well, thank you for your time. I
3:45
really appreciate it, Gobo. And uh
3:47
providing so much insight in the culture
3:49
of Fraggles.
3:50
Oh, sure. And I hope you can come visit
3:52
us in Fraggle Rock during the holidays,
3:53
eh?
3:54
Oh, that would be great. Thank you.
3:56
All right. See you soon, silly creature
3:57
friend.
3:58
All right, see you later, go.
