Hey everyone, it's Doug here for AIPT and what have we got here
0:07
Well that's a mythical jackal, well first of all, why is this here
0:14
Let's ask Diane Sawyer from Shoot Again Games. Hi Diane. Hi, how are you
0:19
What are you doing here today? We are demoing all our games including Bigfoot Versace, which is on Kickstarter right now
0:26
It's a game where you play, all the players are cryptozoologists. They're trying to prove all the various cryptozoological creatures, Bigfoot, Loch Ness Monster, Jersey Devil, etc
0:40
Now, since they want to be the most famous cryptozoologist, they are not above discrediting the other cryptozoologists
0:50
by leaking stories about their so-called discoveries to the tabloid press to discredit it and make it less believable
0:57
The game is a mummy-style game and every creature has an ability
1:04
So when you play it, you get some kind of bonus effect or something that it does for you
1:11
Additionally, obviously, there is a Bigfoot-Versace battle, which is part of it, which is why it has the name
1:19
And there are other things like phenomena and stuff that help you by manipulating your hand, getting you parts of the deck, etc
1:26
Now, the neat thing about this game is, unlike other games, this card pile, which is normally just you throw something away and it's gone forever and that's that
1:35
But with Bigfoot Versace and its prequel, Conspiracy, this card pile is called the tabloids, like the old tabloid newspapers, you know, Weekly World News, that kind of stuff
1:46
And as such, at the end of every round, before you score points, you read the tabloids
1:52
And by reading it, I mean you go through it and any card in there that matches the creature that somebody is trying to prove, that equals a story in the tabloids that discredits it
2:01
So it's a lot harder to prove Bigfoot when there are stories in the press saying, you know, I married Bigfoot or Bigfoot had my baby or something like that
2:10
It makes it much harder to believe. And it's kind of doubly so because at the end of the round, if any creature has 10 or more points on the table, it has risen to the point where people start believing it
2:23
And as such, it doubles, basically because it's been proven enough that people will try and start taking it for real
2:29
However, of course, since things are in the tabloids, it can very easily swing that balance from proven to unproven
2:36
It's really easy for that to go back and forth. And the cool thing about that is it makes the games all very, very close
2:43
Because let's say Russ gets way ahead because he gets a really good hand, then everybody else is no longer going to help him prove his stuff anymore
2:50
Instead, we're going to put his stuff into the tabloids to make him work twice as hard to get points so we can catch up
2:59
The game is for two, three or four players. The Bigfoot vs. Spidy battle, yeah, I didn't mention that
3:07
All the creatures have expeditions and they have a proof card associated with it
3:12
Like, for example, the Jersey Devil has the Devil's Skull. That's a real Devil's Skull that is not a deer skull with goat antlers or something glued on it
3:20
It's totally real. And they help prove it. And Bigfoot and Yeti are the same
3:25
They have expeditions and they have some kind of proof card. Like, for Bigfoot, not surprisingly, it's the Patterson thing
3:31
Yeah, there you go. But what Bigfoot and Yeti have that no one else has is there is this two-sided card which can be Bigfoot or Yeti
3:39
Now, normally when you start an expedition, you need to have three of the same card
3:43
So this can help Bigfoot or Bigfoot and help Yeti. Since Bigfoot and Yeti have a rivalry, like, Yeti is kind of sick of Bigfoot getting all the good press
3:53
He gets the top billing all the time. So anytime either Bigfoot or Yeti show up, the other one will come in and try to horn in
4:02
So, for example, let's say Bigfoot shows up. Yeti can show up as even just one card
4:08
And when he shows up, him and Bigfoot have the same power, which is they can take these cards that flip and they can flip it to their side
4:18
So, at the end of the round, either Bigfoot or Yeti wins
4:22
So, like, in this case, Bigfoot has seven, Yeti has nine. That means Bigfoot lost. Bigfoot was scored no points, and Yeti would be the only one to score, and vice versa
4:32
If it's a tie, then nobody scores because they haven't resolved their battle
4:38
They go off and keep fighting somewhere else. And you score all your normal stuff, but you don't score Bigfoot or Yeti
4:44
So that's basically the game in, like, a very two- or three-minute overview
4:51
And Bigfoot vs. Yeti is on Kickstarter right now? Yes, if you go to www.bigfootvsyeti.com, it will go right to the Kickstarter
5:01
And this is what we're trying to get right now. We're trying to reach that stretch goal to get the Jackalope card
5:06
That's right. That is the Jackalopes. And, of course, the proof to the Jackalope is the Jackalope antlers
5:14
Oh, no! And if you notice, there's, like, Jersey Devil antlers and Wendigo antlers, also mounted on the wall, too
5:24
All right, thank you very much. Thank you. Bigfoot vs. Yeti from Shoot Again Games, currently on Kickstarter
5:32
You gotta love that
