Hey everyone, it's dog for AIPT and what have we got here
0:11
It's an envelope. It's the envelope we've all been waiting for. I'm going to open it here
0:19
Yes, my goodness, the beats of the Mesozoic. From David Silva, the Raptor series
0:26
My Atrossa Raptor is finally here. I had to get it almost only because of the name
0:32
You saw Robert Reed's amazingly detailed review of the several raptors he got recently on AIPT science
0:43
He didn't have this one, though. So I'm going to take this and open it and Marvel at it, and you can join me
0:55
Okay, I've got the Raptor out of the box, but I wanted to go back to the box
0:59
itself for a second. Say hello to Orson again. The cat who has to be in every
1:05
video because he's attention's dark. So this is Deet a checklist of all the
1:15
raptors on the back. I mean I don't know why you'd want to mark up this beautiful
1:20
box but it's still a cool feature. Some info on the Atrazor Raptor the savage
1:26
plunderer. And This is such a nice box as you can see there Thankfully they do credit the artists on the box and look 26 points of articulation Displaced and included wait where is it
1:43
There it's on here somewhere. There it is. There's the credit to the artists
1:57
And here's something else that's neat. A little reminder on the artist
2:01
A little reminder on the invoice. Do not force tight joints if a joint doesn't move
2:07
Use a hair dryer or a warm water to loosen the joint
2:11
I wouldn't have thought of that. That helps me. Thank you, David Silva
2:15
Here's the insert. A nice little forest scene. Where the Atrosser Entre-Raptor lived
2:26
And here's his little forest base. Be careful this came in a little plastic bag. This piece was loose
2:36
Be careful when you open this stuff might fall out. The other two plastic pieces were in the bag securely
2:45
And here he is himself the Etroseraptor. Great coloring on this
2:55
Um... I actually looked up a little about this. actually looked up a little about the Egotrosa Raptor a few moments ago
3:02
We don't seem to know too much about it. I think there's only one specimen and it was just the skull
3:07
We do have an idea of how some animals were colored They can find melanosomes as I mentioned before in the feathers I can kind of tell you what colors they were
3:23
But David Silva has said that he kind of used living birds to imagine what animals
3:32
raptors in those same environments might look like. And I think this is just really cool with the red and the black
3:40
It kind of fits the evil sounding name. Look at this, look at the teeth
3:44
and the eyes and the tongue. And the articulation really comes through
3:51
You can see the jaw. You can close up, open with the tongue
3:56
and you can see, right there in the neck, all the different points of articulation
4:03
The wings, the arms, if you will. Look at those talents. The legs, and yes, the feet
4:16
Look at how posable and movable the feet are. And as Robert Reed mentioned in his article
4:28
the tail does, I haven't moved the tail from the position it came in in the box
4:34
so it is crimped, and it does have the metal bendy in there
4:38
Um, so that may, as he said, um, you know, it may kind of harm it if they're sitting around in the packaging too long
4:48
Um I haven tried to stand this up yet Uh Robert said they don stand all that well but we see
4:59
So that's Raptor in hand. Let me get him set up in all his glory
5:06
There we go. That's a nice posed figure. Notice that, again, like Robert Reed said in his article
5:17
I used kind of a wider base on the posing rod, the one that's supposed to clip onto the Raptor
5:25
Uh, yeah, maybe a little too small. Didn't want to damage it
5:29
But again, he's standing pretty well, you know, he's kind of sitting here. Now at the gait
5:34
It doesn't get much better than that. And also, like Robert said, check this out
5:41
I can put forest accessory on forest raptor. Raptor? T'da! T'da! Way full on scene
5:54
With micro-raptor flying in, or fluttering in or whatever it was that it did
6:00
Still a little unclear. Not pictured here. Ready for it. The alternate toes
6:11
I think that's a good way to close out. Check out the article
6:15
