Hello, Alexa, Lillian. My name is Nathaniel Mirum from AIPT Comics. My question is about social media. You had touched on it earlier
0:09
It's a necessity nowadays, but it's pretty toxic. But, Alexa, you seem pretty comfortable with it
0:14
How comfortable are you navigating social media? Um, so I actually just went on a whole social media rant last week
0:24
about cyberbullying, because social media can be so good. So good. You know, you can keep in touch with people you haven't kept in touch with in a long time
0:35
Like, I only, like, I keep in touch with all my family, like, distant family on Facebook
0:39
Like, it's great. You know, you can market yourself and share the things that you love
0:46
And you can form a community with people that have those same interests
0:50
But it also can be very toxic. You know, people find this weird confidence in making other people feel bad through social media
1:01
And I'm a big advocate on, you know, self-positivity and body positivity
1:07
Because, you know, I was one of those people. I went through depression. I went through eating disorders
1:13
And sometimes social media can be such a toxic thing. But I feel like you have to know your self-worth, and you can't let it get to you that much
1:22
Because these people are only doing it to make themselves feel better
1:26
So you can't feel bad about yourself, because the only person suffering then is you
1:30
Because they make their little comment, and then they move on with the rest of their day. And I feel really passionately about that, because, you know, there was, I've, you see it all the time on social media as well
1:40
People are taking their lives because of cyberbullying and any kind of bullying
1:45
And, you know, back home, I know that there was a situation where a young kid took his life from cyberbullying
1:51
And he was in middle school. And so I feel very passionately about speaking the truth on that
1:58
You know, we use it for a platform. We use it to connect with you guys, which is amazing
2:02
But some people take advantage of that. And some people try to make us feel bad about ourselves when we're just trying to reach out and make it a productive world, if that makes sense
