Hey E36 Fanatics! What's going on? Today I am removing a hood off of a BMW E36
0:11
The reason being is that I'm parting this vehicle out and somebody wants to buy the hood
0:18
I don't love people coming into my backyard to pull parts unless I don't feel like pulling
0:23
them and a hood is pretty easy to remove so I'm going to remove it myself
0:28
I have already actually removed the hood shocks and I did that in a previous video
0:34
I'll post the link will be at the top of the right corner of this video
0:39
If you want to take a look at that, it's really easy to do
0:43
So anyways, I'm going to skip past that. The hood is literally only held on besides the hood shocks
0:50
It's held on by two bolts on either end and this ground wire right here, which man, this
0:58
ground wire is pretty frayed can you see that jesus so anyways it's only held on by four bolts
1:05
in total and you remove these two on either end you need somebody you really need somebody to
1:12
assist you because i mean the hood's not that heavy but you know it'll come crashing down on
1:18
you once you start moving once you remove all these bolts so it's nice to have a helping hand
1:23
you know. So I'm gonna get to work on this and I'll show you all how to do it
1:30
All right, so the first thing you're gonna want to do is disconnect the washer fluid
1:36
hose right here. Now you can either disconnect it from the hood or you can disconnect it down here
1:44
where it connects to where it connects to your washer pump right here right at the bottom Now this is one of those single use clamps that I got right here and what I going to do is I just going to snip it with my metal wire snippers
2:06
Alright so that worked out nicely, got the pump disconnected. Next thing you want to
2:14
go ahead and worry about is the ground wire here. You want to disconnect that before you
2:20
start pulling off these bolts. There's only one ground wire on the left side or on the passenger
2:31
side. So go ahead and keep these bolts. And it is a 10 millimeter socket. So got that. And then you
2:42
can go ahead and start disconnecting the bolts. They are 10 millimeter. One here
2:50
one here, and then one down here. And remember, have a helper with you. And I've
2:58
got it, I've got the hood held up here. and there you have it hood is removed like i said it's pretty easy uh removal process
3:41
it's pretty quick it's just helpful to have a helper and if you're reinstalling another hood
3:47
you really need a helper as well to reinstall the hood hope y'all enjoyed this video if you
