There are a few ways to get free Azure tier services. If you are qualified, you even do not need to enter credit card info. This video summarize those ways for you to get free Azure services. With new changes in 2025, basic SKU public ip is going to retire soon and it is not able to be created from Web GUI. Here shows two ways which still work to get your completely free VMs including free dynamic basic Public IP.
Cloud Shell command to get basic SKU public ip:
az network public-ip create \
--resource-group free-wi \
--name pip-basic-free-win1 \
--location westus2 \
--sku Basic \
--allocation-method Dynamic \

0:13
hello everyone welcome to my net YouTube
0:16
channel Everybody knows we can get Azure
0:18
for free from Microsoft Azure website
0:22
which is trial account to give you 30
0:26
days
0:28
$200 for free to use So USD 200 credit
0:33
and also you always get the 55 plus
0:37
service always free once you have a
0:39
account those popular service free for
0:42
12 months So that's that standard thing
0:46
everybody knows But actually I'm going
0:48
to show you there's lots of other ways
0:51
to get free account from Azu such as you
0:54
can get a student account which you get
0:57
the
0:58
$100 free credit to use and renewable as
1:03
long as you have student account which
1:06
will be required to verify every year Of
1:10
course you also get those free services
1:14
from a free account Those always free
1:17
services and then one year free services
1:20
Those also going to be free And if you
1:24
have developer account you also can get
1:27
whatever credit you have based on your
1:30
Visual Studio subscription You also can
1:33
get those free accounts free services
1:35
and always free services
1:38
The fourth one is temporary Azu sandbox
1:41
subscription So I'm going to show
1:43
quickly So those website for a student
1:47
account here As long as you have student
1:50
email address you should be able to get
1:52
the free $100 as your credit every year
1:57
renewable If you do have Visual Studio
2:00
Professional or Enterprise
2:02
subscription then you qualify to set up
2:05
a free Microsoft 365 E5 developer
2:09
subscription It used to be free not only
2:13
for subscriber but the Microsoft changer
2:16
policy Now you have to have certain
2:19
Visual Studio subscription to get the
2:21
free account As long as you have this
2:24
Visual Studio subscription then you
2:28
should be able to get a free credit to
2:30
use those free Microsoft 365 E5
2:35
developer license Other than that this
2:39
is uh another way you can get some kind
2:41
of free license to use which is from
2:45
learn platform Microsoft learn platform
2:48
You can get a learn sandbox subscription
2:50
temporary for a couple hours while
2:52
you're doing the training I do have some
2:55
videos and post to show you those basic
2:59
things how you can get free account
3:02
Checking those videos and blog post
3:06
under this video to get more information
3:09
For this video I'm going to assuming you
3:11
already signed up a free Azure account
3:15
which requires you have a credit cards
3:17
your personal information to be verified
3:21
and then Microsoft going to give you
3:24
$200 US credit to use for the first 30
3:27
days After that you can use those
3:29
popular services for 12 months
3:34
But there's a recent changes regarding
3:37
IP address It used to be able to get the
3:42
basic school for the public IP free for
3:46
charge but Microsoft stopped that you
3:50
won't be able to create one from web and
3:54
starting from September 30 2025 basic
3:57
SQL public IP will be retired In this
4:00
video I also going to show you how you
4:01
can use command line to get this basic
4:05
screw public IP address So now let's
4:08
jump into
4:12
it So if you haven't azure account then
4:15
you can go
4:16
to microsoft.com web page and then you
4:20
can see try as you for free Um if you
4:23
already have a contract like me you will
4:25
probably get this message to say looks
4:27
like you already have a account and you
4:30
need to sign up for a pay as you go
4:32
subscription or use exist That's what I
4:34
going to do I'm going to use my existing
4:37
subscription to continue to use I
4:39
already have two free virtual machines
4:41
created before One for Linux one for
4:44
Windows Both virtual machines are free
4:48
to use as long as you meet the
4:50
criterials for those virtual machines
4:53
and you can free to use for 12 months
4:56
I'm going to show you how you can create
4:58
this one because it does have some small
5:01
tricks to adjust the settings else you
5:05
will get charged Now let's start create
5:08
a virtual machine That's the purpose of
5:10
this video to show you how to create a
5:13
real free virtual machines without any
5:20
charge Click on create a new virtual
5:24
machine So here you can go through all
5:27
those steps We're going to create a new
5:30
resource
5:31
group Okay Now give a
5:35
name Choose a region
5:38
Don't choose availability options here
5:41
We don't need that Free subscription
5:44
doesn't give you this option Security
5:47
type doesn't matter And then you need to
5:49
choose your image Here is the previous
5:51
image I chose Ubuntu server 244 LTS
5:55
version For the size you will see two
5:58
different size here Standard B2 ATS
6:01
standard B1S So this can and then you
6:04
can choose username password here
6:08
Since it's an unicus the default inbound
6:11
ports ssh22 has been selected So load
6:15
the first page and next disk It's also
6:19
very tricky for us to use free services
6:22
You may want to use a 64 gig
6:26
P6 This is only free eligible to use
6:31
It's a premium SSD SD local redundant
6:36
storage This page is the big one for you
6:41
If you didn't choose right then you will
6:43
get charged Public
6:46
IP You may notice there's a new public
6:49
IP but recent changes The basic public
6:54
IP address is not able to be created in
6:58
the web UI Basically you cannot create
7:00
the basic one So this is not basic It
7:05
became a standard one When you click
7:07
create the skew option is only for
7:11
standard It's no way you can change it
7:14
to basic here and it's static That means
7:18
the charger will be here almost $3 per
7:22
month for public IP You can choose
7:27
num review and create other settings
7:31
will be
7:32
default Let's create that We didn't
7:36
choose public IP here because there's no
7:40
free school for us to
7:42
choose Deployment succeeded Let's go to
7:48
resource Now you can see there's no
7:50
public IP address If there is no public
7:53
how we going to connect to it that's the
7:55
point This is free but we need to get a
7:58
public IP address to connect to it which
8:01
we're going to create it use as your
8:04
cloud shell command This is Azure cloud
8:07
shell command we're going to use So we
8:10
do need to tell in where to create it
8:14
We're going to create it in free Linux
8:17
This resource group we're going to name
8:20
it free Linux We're going to name it as
8:23
a PIP basic free
8:26
Linux So location west
8:30
US2 basic and this is dynamic Beautiful
8:34
So let's give it a
8:49
run It does gave us a
8:54
argument unrecognized So we're going to
8:56
delete this one since by default it will
9:00
generate IPv4 address for us
9:05
So it's recommended to create a
9:08
SKU standard but we still we don't want
9:12
to pay for it at least for
9:15
now Go to network
9:18
settings Click
9:21
configure IP config
9:26
one It's dynamic static internal IP
9:29
We're going to associate a public IP
9:32
address with
9:34
it We already create one here P IP basic
9:39
free Linux
9:41
Save Now we get the public IP address
9:45
here We can give it try to connect to
9:50
it
9:54
SSH Yes
9:58
put the password that we created before
10:01
during a
10:02
creation B we are
10:05
in and that public IP address
10:09
is let's take a look public IP
10:13
addresses look at this public IP address
10:16
we just
10:19
created west US basic
10:23
school IP address
10:26
That's the process how you can create
10:28
real free VMs in Azure free services for
10:33
12
10:39
months Here is another way you can
10:41
create those free VMs once you have free
10:46
service account You can go to the Azure
10:49
marketplace or if you don't know how to
10:51
go to there just search marketplace and
10:55
you will see this marketplace option
10:58
here Uh once you get in here just search
11:00
in the marketplace use a free
11:04
account virtual
11:07
machine So now you see this option here
11:11
Just click one of them You will see
11:14
three
11:15
different icons to show you free account
11:18
virtual machines It's the same You just
11:22
click on your friend So then you can
11:24
create the free account virtual machine
11:27
Basically this is already pre-built as
11:30
your template with configuration for the
11:33
easy
11:34
deployment Here I telling you what you
11:37
will get 750 hours standard B1 B2 ATS
11:40
and the B2Pds Linux virtual machine and
11:43
you can get 750 hours standard B1 B2 ATS
11:47
Windows virtual machine to P6 managed
11:51
discs not like previously we have to
11:54
choose and find out the the right size
11:58
of the VM and the right size of the
12:01
manager disk Here you can directly
12:04
create they will pick those for you
12:06
since they defined it already in the
12:08
template So let's create a new resource
12:12
group give a name Now you will see that
12:15
even the image dis they already gave you
12:17
the option they don't give you all
12:19
others This is already build here Those
12:22
are purposeuilt image which you can use
12:25
create this type of free VM to use The
12:28
core one doesn't have web So we may want
12:32
to stick this one or as you want So
12:34
those two will be your option here Um
12:38
also for the size you don't see hundreds
12:41
of size of uh for you to choose here
12:44
because the free service eligible size
12:46
is only two offline for the windows So
12:49
you can choose elo then you put the
12:51
username password The port will be 3389
12:55
since this is Windows typical 3389
12:58
remote desktop service port As you can
13:01
see they even don't give you the option
13:03
to choose a disk but that's fine with us
13:07
since this all the everything is been
13:11
created by
13:12
template We will create and take a look
13:16
deployment is in progress There's one
13:19
thing I want to notify you
13:22
is public IP address So this one So we
13:26
got a public IP address We didn't get
13:28
option to change or to set up a right
13:33
skew we want which is basic one So let's
13:37
see what they gave to us They gave us
13:44
dynamic It's basic here as well
13:48
So that's perfect So basically if we use
13:52
those marketplace to create our free VMs
13:57
you will get actually get the free
14:01
retiring soon public IP
14:04
address which is basic SQU and the
14:07
dynamic IP
14:09
address That's exactly what we want
14:12
Another thing you may want to check is
14:14
disk As you can see it's a premium SSD
14:18
LS disk type and the 64 gig by which is
14:24
P6 It's also free As you can see the
14:28
disk tier is P6 So that's how you can
14:31
get free VMs Two ways One is manual
14:35
creating You need to pick the right one
14:37
Another way is using marketplace
14:40
pre-built template to create one which
14:42
is much easier I hope this video gives
14:46
you some ideas how to get your real free
14:51
VMs with recent Microsoft changes their
14:55
policy for public IP skew If you get
14:59
something from this video please give me
15:01
thumb up Also if you haven't subscribe
15:04

15:06
great support Thank you for watching See
