Malton again via Amotherby for a change

Autumn colours about as good as they will get - with windy spell forecast. I often come back empty by Amotherby but there are too many bends with cattle on board. However there was temporary roadwork lights and long queue today on A169 so probably a good decision by chance. You do avoid the horrible showfield lane speed bumps and chicanes and I think it takes about 5 minutes less even if things go smoothly through Pickering.
