Algerian court upholds 7-year sentence for French journalist Christophe Gleizes

An Algerian appeals court has upheld a 7-year prison sentence for French sports journalist Christophe Gleizes, accusing him of “glorifying terrorism” after he reported in the Kabylia region and interviewed a football official linked to a banned separatist group. Gleizes’ family and supporters, including Reporters Without Borders, say he was simply doing his job, and his legal team has eight days to appeal to Algeria’s Supreme Court.
