Hi this is Bobby Thompson with Crochet Guru and today I'm going to show you how to crochet this rose
0:06
Now you can play around with the yarn in the hook size if you want but the yarn I used was soft worsted weight and I used bright red
0:13
I used an H8 crochet hook, a stitch marker and you will need a yarn needle to stitch your rows together at the end
0:21
To start the rows we're going to chain three. Starting with your slip knot go ahead and chain three. There's one, two, two
0:30
and three. For round one we're going to work six single crochets into the last chain from our hook
0:39
Locate the last chain from your hook and place six single crochets
0:43
So insert your hook into that last chain, yarn over and pull through the chain and place your first single crochet
0:50
Now insert your hook into the same chain and place your second single crochet
0:55
Now we're going to place six altogether. So go ahead and do it again
0:59
again and place your third single crochet and now your fourth, your fifth, all into the same chain
1:12
and then your sixth, so that should be six single crochets. For round two we're going to
1:20
place two single crochets and each single crochet around. Okay so now's a good time to grab your stitch
1:26
marker and what I'm going to do is just use a different color of yarn so I'm
1:31
using about three or four inches of blue yarn and I'm just going to insert my hook through that last single crochet and then pull that blue yarn through
1:39
that stitch and that's going to be my stitch marker okay so after you get that stitch marker place let's go ahead and place two single crochets in each
1:45
single crochet around so there's one single crochet and there's two and
1:51
that's all in one stitch and the second stitch we're going to place two single crochets so there's one and then place your second single crochet into the
2:00
second stitch and then again two single crochets again into the next
2:05
stitch so there's one and two and then in the next stitch go ahead and
2:12
place two more single crochets so there's one and then two more into the next
2:21
stitch. So there's one and two. And then in your last stitch, right above your stitch
2:30
marker, we're going to place our last two single crochets. So there's one and two
2:37
Now before moving on, just make sure you have 12 single crochets to make sure you're on track
2:42
Okay, so for round three, we're going to single crochet into the next single crochet
2:46
and then place two single crochets into the next single crochet. And we're just going to
2:51
repeat this all the way around. Before we start round three, go ahead and move that stitch marker
2:55
up to the last stitch, and then let's go ahead and single crochet into the next single crochet
3:02
So locate your first single crochet and place one single crochet Now in your second single crochet we going to place two single crochets So there one and two single crochets and we just going to repeat that all the way around
3:18
So in the next single crochet just one and the next we're going to place two
3:24
So there's one and two single crochets. So in the next one just one again
3:31
So there's your one single, and then the next two. So there's one and two
3:40
And then just keep following that all the way around. So one, and then two in the next
3:48
So one and two. Then again, one, and then two
3:58
So here's one, and then two. So here's one, and then two single crochets, then in the next stitch there's one, and then
4:07
your very last stitch right above the stitch marker, make sure that there's two, there's
4:12
one, and two single crochets. Now when you get done with round three, make sure you have 18 single crochets total
4:22
Okay, so round four is where it gets really fun. We're going to chain one, skip two single crochets, and then place five
4:28
five double crochets and a single crochet all into the same stitch
4:32
And then we're just going to keep repeating this pattern six times around for a total of 36 single crochets
4:38
Okay, so again remember to move that stitch marker up to the last stitch made
4:43
We're going to start by chaining one. Remember to skip two single crochets
4:49
And now we're going to place five double crochets and one single crochet all into the same stitch
4:55
So skip those first two stitches and into the same stitch. stitches and into the third stitch place five double crochets. So there's one double
5:05
crochet, there's two, there's three, four, and five, and five, and this is all
5:26
going into the same stitch. And then we're going to place one single crochet into that exact
5:31
same stitch. So there's your one single crochet. And now we're just going to repeat
5:42
that pattern five more times. So remember to start by chaining one. Then we're going to skip
5:47
two single crochets. And now let's place those five double crochets into that next stitch
5:56
So there's one double crochet, there's two into the same stitch, there's three into the same stitch
6:07
there three into the same stitch there four and then there five double crochets all into that same stitch and then remember all we need to do is just place one more single crochet into that
6:24
same stitch and then again chain one skip the next two stitches
6:33
and in the next stitch place five double crochets so there's one
6:42
There's two, three, four, and five, and then place one single crochet into the same stitch
7:01
Okay so I'm going to let you finish this round and just remember to repeat that pattern two more times
7:08
So now is a good time to pause the video and then I'll meet you back here to show you what's next. what's next. Okay so before we move on, don't fasten off your work yet but instead
7:17
we're going to chain 30. So I'm just finishing round 4 by completing that last
7:24
single crochet. Go ahead and take your stitch marker out and now instead of
7:29
finishing off our work let's go ahead and chain 30. Now I'm going to speed up the track
7:34
and just finish up this chain. Now we're switching from rounds to rows and in row one in the second chain from our hook we're going to place five double crochets and one single crochet into the same chain
7:55
We're going to chain one and then skip two chains. We're going to repeat this ten times down our row
8:02
So what we're going to do first is skip two chains. So there's one and two and two and now we're going to place five double crochets and a single crochet into that third chain
8:11
So there's one double crochet, there's two, there's two, there's three, four, four, and four, and
8:41
five double crochets and then remember into the same chain we're going to place one single crochet
8:46
I'm having a little bit of trouble getting my hook in there
8:51
So there's that one single crochet. So now we're going to chain one and then remember to skip two more chains
8:59
And now we're going to repeat what we did 10 more times. So place five double crochets into that next chain
9:06
So there's one. two there three four four and five double crochets Then remember to insert one single crochet into that same chain
9:35
And then we're going to chain one and then skip two more chains
9:42
And then again insert five double crochets into the next chain. I'm going to do this one more time with you and I'll let you finish off this row
9:50
finish off this row. So there's one, two, three, four, and then five, and place your single crochet
10:11
into the same chain, and then chain one and skip two more stitches
10:20
Okay, so I'm going to let you finish off this row on your own
10:24
And I actually have a question for you before I move on. I'd like to know if you like this style of teaching where you finish the rows or rounds
10:31
on your own, or would you prefer me to finish them with you? So I would love to hear your opinions and comments on this
10:37
And if you'd like to leave me a comment about this, go ahead and post in the comment section below
10:42
Okay, so now that we're done with our rows, let's go ahead and cut that yarn and let's fasten
10:46
it off. go ahead and just pull the loose end of yarn through the loop on your hook and tighten it
10:53
up to fasten. Okay, so now what we need to do is start folding row one around to form a flower
11:00
So go ahead and just take that row one that we just did and start winding it around so
11:06
that it lays nicely on top of the bottom flower. So as you can see, I'm just kind of winding my flower around
11:15
And once you get it placed, just kind of mess with it and see how you like it
11:18
So I kind of turn it and form it how I like it to look
11:23
And then we're going to stitch it into place. Okay, so now let's go ahead and just stitch this flower together
11:30
Okay, so I cut my yarn a little short, but I'm going to try and use it for stitching my
11:34
flower together anyway. But if your tail end of yarn is just a little too short, just cut off about 12 inches or
11:41
so of yarn and use that to stitch your flower together. Okay, so as you can see, I'm just weaving in and out of my flower, and I can already tell
11:48
that I'm going to need more yarn, but that's okay, so just go ahead and continue to weave
11:53
in and out all the way around your flower, and make sure it's really secure
11:57
Okay, so I just finished attaching my flower together, and as you can see, it's pretty secure
12:02
Just make sure to cut that tail end off the bottom, and this is how it should look
12:11
Okay, so thanks so much for watching this video, and I really appreciate all of the your comments and your questions and your feedback. So thank you so much for that
