uh way of going about this We're going to try to debate and make a consensus and we all have preferences Like I know

Jacob likes one person that I don't particularly like Um but we're going to work work through this We're going to

has been an overall very interesting year from my point of view I don't know

about you guys but like it's it's a year that obviously coming into it was like

oh this is not so good like it's pretty shallow And then the more and the more I watch these guys the more I've just like

fallen in love with more players I don't know if we could take do general takeaways from the the class before we

kind of dive super into it Yeah To me I think there's actually it almost reminds

me of last year's NBA draft where like there's there's a top player and then

you kind of go through a list of kind of less sexy names throughout the top 10

but you get down to 20 25 and you're like well all these guys can be very viable middle six players at the very

least Um and I think 10 to 20 we'll see is kind of a lot of preference uh

depending on like what what teams need what Uh but I I think there's actually a lot of depth here at least in the first

I had a similar takeaway Um I think the defenseman class I found is a little bit

and as we get to the later on the depth of the forwards in particular and I think there's a good mix of like swing

um with especially a lot of the Swedish forwards there's a good mix of swing and a lot and and um lower risk middle six

this class as well and also within that top six or so I think it's more so like a top eight so I u have thoughts on that

full ranking I think obviously it's led by two players but it's the order of the two players that if we want to get spicy

think that's pretty a pretty safe assumption to make at this point Yeah So I I have Schaefer ahead of Misa just by

that the little dynamism of him and how like and my Misa is safe my point of

view and um I think he's a better like I don't know my gut just tells me

So yeah like I think he at at the worst see like I think for the Sharks having

Celebrini and Misa is like a setup for the next 15 years if you can hold on to

them right So uh Schaefer missed a lot of the year and I I'm not saying that

should hurt his draft stock but I was kind of surprised it didn't more I think I think for me I had Sha Schaefer just a

little bit ahead Um just because of the dynamicism to the to his game and I think when I watched anything Matthew

Schaefer related you knew he was the focal point of that Yuri team You knew he was the focal point of that candidate team Um all every team he played on I

thought that there was a sense that Schaefer was the guy and he took over games And I think when you just watch

him whether it's the skating whether it's kind of the offensive sense and like his ability to um engage on both

ends I think that uh Schaefer's ability just to completely take over And your takeaway when you

leave watching an Eerie game or a C a Can World Junior's game is that Schaefer

is the best player on the ice I thought that was a little bit more apparent than it is with Misa And I think that

going to be my fifth guy Uh I think Equin's number five on my board because I think if I look at like the question

Um I think that you have a safer bet with Ekkan than almost anybody in the class I I really he's a lot like if it's

his brother and San Jose and uh he's a fun player to watch He's always on the

puck He wins a crazy amount of battles And then if you watch any of the games

um from FEL and Equin's uh Swedish team when they're on a line together Ekkan's

the primary puck carrier and Fondell is kind of a bit of a passenger Uh now

Fundell has an ability to uh put the puck in the net like pretty much any no one in his draft class does Um

but I do kind of lean towards Ekkan's skill set if I'm trying to project to

I I I agree that JVR was a real good player and I don't think Roger McQueen

is necessarily like just JVR but I think there's a lot of similarities in like big guy hands around the net in the way that JVR was Um and uh

that is probably like the seventh or eighth best player in this draft So I kind of agree with Jacob um in the sense

that if we take the injury out of it but which people might have overblown um we still don't really have like a a good

like real verdict on that Um but he probably is like the seventh or eighth best player in this draft Yeah

And I just like the JVR thing I think he's got a better skating stride and a better ability than JVR JVR couldn't

move after he was 28 Yeah Like he was I I thought even JVR in the Leafs was not

a very good hockey player It's just he just parked himself in front of the net and and I I hated watching him for the

back half of his career but that's besides the point Yeah I mean my McQueen hate was like at the beginning of the

season where I was like I hate people that are like it was an overcorrection on like the general consensus of like him being so highly rated And I was like

I don't see a whole lot But then the more I got into the depths of this draft I'm like okay yeah And then I revisited McQueen and it's like okay like he's

clearly like when he's playing he's a skill I think he's a step above a lot of the players So I'm at the top of my like

my third tier but it's I think I took a little bit of the injury concern in that So I'd be comfortable with him in this
