hi Dave Taylor here again and this time
0:06
I want to talk about the Cobra dash cam
0:09
now they call their line the drive HD
0:11
and they're really cool the idea is you
0:13
have a little webcam essentially that is
0:16
sitting and here mine's actually right
0:19
just mounted right to the front
0:21
windshield and it continuously records
0:23
video footage of what's ahead of me now
0:27
if I get into an accident they actually
0:28
have sensors that it'll automatically
0:30
protect the video footage that's within
0:33
a few minutes of that accident so that's
0:35
like a black box on an airplane that's
0:37
pretty cool but in general it comes with
0:40
an 8 gig card and it'll record an hour
0:42
as a continuous loop so if I drive for 2
0:46
hours my most recent hour of footage
0:48
will be on the device so let's go ahead
0:50
and look at me when I drove to the
0:52
airport recently now as you can see at
0:55
regular speed it's not very glamorous
0:57
but it does get a little fun when you
0:59
speed it up a little and add some
1:00
dramatic music so let's do
1:05
that I could certainly make it super
1:08
fast but however you do it it's really
1:10
interesting and it's definitely fun if
1:12
you're driving through the mountains or
1:14
you're driving into very heavy traffic
1:17
um and there's more importantly there's
1:19
safety elements and the idea that this
1:21
can help you record if there's an
1:23
accident or something or if there's
1:25
dramatic footage by bad coincidental
1:28
luck if you happen to be driving as an
1:30
airplane crashes as recently happened in
1:32
Taiwan here's a quick picture of that
1:35
then obviously you can get that off your
1:37
dash cam I don't really want to see
1:39
something like that but the this is the
1:42
CDR 825e let me go ahead and pop it off
1:45
the
1:46
windshield and you can see it here it's
1:49
just a small unit and I'll turn it on so
1:52
it has a battery power but it also
1:55
actually can plug directly into your uh
1:58
lighter and as you can see it has a nice
2:01
little 2.7 in screen which is plenty big
2:05
enough and it actually records at 140°
2:09
viewing angle so you really get a nice
2:11
sweep of everything in front of your
2:13
vehicle as you saw and it's 1080 full HD
2:17
and I really like it runs about
2:21
$139 and if you drive a lot or if you're
2:24
curious what your drivers are doing in
2:26
your company or you just want to have
2:28
some fun with it it's really slick
2:30
device it also records audio and as you
2:33
saw it pops off very easily for security
2:36
cuz you don't want to just leave it on
2:37
your windshield in case bad people come
2:39
by so the Cobra CDR
2:44
825e $139 at cobra.com this is Dave
2:49
Taylor saying I think I need to go for
2:51
another drive and get some more footage
2:52
so I'll see you in my next video
