Good afternoon, I am Olivier Faure, in charge of marketing the artillery products of CNDS

We are the main French Army equipment, land equipment producer. In particular, we produce the gun, CESAR gun, the 105 that is fielded in Malaysia

The proposal of CNDS is CESAR 6x6, the well proven CESAR 6x6

We also propose to do assembly in Malaysia with our partner, which has already assembled the successful 105

The combat capability of the CESAR is exceptional. We have used it, the French forces have used it in several conflicts

It is the 52 caliber that is the most combat proven in effect

It benefits from an extensive operational experience and we have improved the product consistently

It has unique features. It is also the gun that has fired the highest number of ammunition in very high charges

in Iraq in particular, and it is 39 caliber. It is a bit technical, but 39 caliber you cannot fire it in charge and the maximum charges

And this gun has never had any accident because we have a special bridge

Nobody else has got this type of bridge. The CESAR 6x6 has got a crew of five people

It stops on the firing position, then the crew has to go behind and they man the gun from outside

which is a very good quality because now in Ukraine, for example

very often the loitering ammunition are the main threat for self-propelled artillery systems

And sometimes the crew, as they are outside when they are firing

they can hear loitering ammunition and they can either protect or try to destroy the loitering ammunition

So it is an excellent feature. The architecture of the gun is very good because very often these loitering ammunition

they will aim at the cabin, whereas when you have an automated system with a turret

statistically we know that they target the turret. And in the turret you have the ammunition and charges and it creates secondary explosions

And it is noticeable that the CESAR is in Ukraine at the moment

the gun that has the lowest rate of systems which have been destroyed

And the highest rate of destructions are the systems with the turret for the exact reason that I've just quoted

With the standard ammunition, we have several types. With the basic type, we go up to 38.6 kilometres

And we are developing because CNDS France is also producing artillery ammunition

And we have under development a longer range standard ammunition which will reach 43 kilometres

And with extended range ammunition, we have already fired up to 55 kilometres

We can fire six rounds per minute. Some guns have a higher firing rate, but in fact the bridge which we have

which is particular, it's a screw bridge, so we have more safety

We have less risks for the crew and less risks of damage for the gun

The rate of fire is slightly less than for a sliding bridge, but we gain in security

You can carry 18 ammunition and you can carry 18 times six charges

because to fire at the longest range, you need six charges. It's a .52 calibre NATO standard

I would like to tell the Malaysian Army that this gun has proven itself in many conflicts

There have been no accidents. This gun has been improved consistently. It is not automated, which is an immense quality

because the more automation there is, the less survivability there is. The more a gun is automated, the more time it will spend in a garage

It is very highly automated and we know it because some countries have come back

from automated systems to the CISAR because they told us, we had an automated system and we need to preserve it from humidity

So we need to have big garages with systems to heat and to control the humidity

which is very expensive. So this system is very rough because it takes a lot of different climates

We have an excellent relationship with our Indonesian customers. Their climate is a bit similar to the one in this country
